<p>A person who has experienced some measure of success in life may balk at the idea of self confidence hypnosis. If one is quite comfortable with his own abilities, then why rock the boat, so to speak. This belief may exactly be the reason for that person to take a second look at himself.</p>
<p>As actively promoted by its proponents, self confidence hypnosis may be helpful to those who have fears in these common scenarios: public speaking, socializing with people or going to job interviews. Immediately, a person who may be intrigued by hypnosis but don&#8217;t believe that he has self confidence issues may be convinced that he has no use for it. The fact is, self confidence hypnosis is not just limited to overcoming anxiety in speaking to large crowds.</p>
<p><span id="more-2226"></span></p>
<p>Self confidence, as distinguished from self-esteem, is the belief in one&#8217;s ability or capacity to do something. To put it in another way, even if one has confidence in one thing, it does not necessarily follow that he has confidence in all things. A person who has no qualms in selling his new idea in the boardroom or in persuading his case to a hostile jury may doubt himself when it comes to haggling for the best price in buying a car or in any other situation that he is not usually accustomed to be in. After all, Nobody is perfect in every single area in his life; although it might not be crippling the person outright, he may do better if he opens to the possibilities of what self confidence hypnosis can do to him.</p>
<p>Most people also have past experiences that could have shaken their confidence at some point. This could be an embarrassing situation in school, a major gaffe in their first job or a car accident caused by his negligence.</p>
<p>Others may have had painful childhood traumas such as being told they were not beautiful or capable enough or that they should not even try something because they would only fail at it. Self-professed confident people may proudly say that they have gotten over these things by shrugging them off or pushing them out of their minds. However, while they may have had pushed them out of their conscious minds these are still very much taking residence in their subconscious minds. These beliefs would then, unbeknownst to them, rear its ugly head in the way they make decisions or behave. The only way they can take control of these negative beliefs is to extract them out of their subconscious mind and have it replaced by positive ideas. Self confidence hypnosis can certainly address this type of issue.</p>
<p>Another example of one&#8217;s confidence being shaken are those times when life throws him a curve ball and he is put into a situation that he needs to adjust to, but may not know exactly how. It may be during the period when one is laid off, for instance, or when one needs to relocate to a new and unfamiliar place or country or in any situation when one is taken out of his comfort zone. Some may cope easily; others, although confident in other areas, may find these changes daunting.</p>
<p>Lastly, there are those milestones in life that most people go through. This can be a marriage, divorce, birth of a child or loss of loved ones. Major adjustments may be needed to go through these milestones and many often find themselves at a loss on how to proceed and would start to second-guess themselves. They may be pleased to find that there is such a thing as self confidence hypnosis that can help them sail through all these changes.

With anchoring, clients are regressed to an instance where they did experience the feelings of confidence. As they remember and re-experience those feelings, they are taught to touch two fingers together. The subconscious then associates the emotions of confidence with this behavior. If the patient argues that they have no recollection of ever feeling confident, they can create an imaginary event in which they do see themselves being confident, and then anchor that instance of confidence.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
After anchoring the emotions of confidence, when they find themselves in situations that necessitate self-confidence, touching the fingers together triggers memories of confidence that are useful in the present situation.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
A very useful NLP too called the &#8220;Flash&#8221; may be utilized to instantaneously substitute stressful emotions, which are often connected with a lack of self-confidence. Because of this method, the individual diverts the visual images that create negative emotions, to trigger visual pictures to produce a constructive response.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
For instance, the individual programs the subconscious to use the mental images that cause feelings of uncertainty, as triggers for mental pictures that precipitate emotions of self confidence. It is our mental images that trigger our emotions.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />

Summary: Individuals who do not possess self-confidence typically do not easily succeed in the majority areas of their lives. <p>&#13;WHAT THE MIND CAUSES, THE MIND CAN CURE:<br />&#13;The motivation for our behaviors starts in our thoughts. If you stop and think about it, all of these unconstructive behaviors are the result of negative thinking. In other words, you think and motivate yourself into all of these behaviors. Or at least you think yourself into feeling anxious, and that can be the origin of these behaviors. And in view of the fact that you think and motivate yourself into these behaviors, you can think and motivate yourself out of them as well. In order to think and motivate yourself out of them, you will need to know specifically how to go about doing so.</p>
<p><span id="more-1260"></span></p>
<p>&#13;DESIRE:<br />&#13;You are almost certainly reading this editorial because you want the motivation to make some personal changes. And that is fitting for the reason that the first building block in the &#8220;Motivation Formula For Your Success&#8221; is that you must want or desire to change. If you have read this far, at least a little part of you wishes a change.</p>
<p>&#13;BELIEF IS REQUIRED FOR MOTIVATION:<br />&#13;Before anyone can eliminate a negative behavior, that person must be motivated to do so. Merely wanting a behavior to change is not adequate. </p>
<p>&#13;Our motivation comes from the things that we believe. If we believe that something very important to us will get better or &#8220;become enhanced&#8221; if we alter our behavior, then we will feel a high level of motivation. Conversely, if we believe that something very important to us will be placed in jeopardy if we don&#8217;t alter our behavior, we will also experience motivation to alter our behavior.</p>
<p>&#13;Some simple examples of these motivational beliefs would be: </p>
<p>&#13;If I take some weight off, then I&#8217;ll be able to find a companion. </p>
<p>&#13;If I kick my smoking habit, then I won&#8217;t have to worry about cancer.</p>
<p>&#13;If I stop biting my nails, then my hands will look a lot more attractive.</p>
<p>&#13;TECHNOLOGIES THAT CAN CREATE THE BELIEFS THAT LEAD TO MOTIVATION:<br />&#13;Neuro-Linguistic Programming &#8211; which is commonly known as NLP, provides methods that are able to instantly produce the element of belief. You can study more concerning this by reading the articles &#8220;How To Get Motivated To Exercise Using Hypnosis And NLP&#8221; and &#8220;Motivation Theory &#8211; How To Quit Smoking Using NLP And Hypnosis For Motivation.&#8221; These articles are both available in my free hypnosis research library.</p>
<p>&#13;DECISION:<br />&#13;The dictionary definition of the word &#8220;Decision&#8221; is making up one&#8217;s mind / a verdict or judgment. When you believe a concept that gives you a powerful feeling of motivation to make a change, you will feel compelled to make a decision to eliminate a negative behavior. Decision is the key that unlocks the door to compelling action.</p>
<p>&#13;ACTION:<br />&#13;The dictionary defines the word &#8220;Action&#8221; as an act or deed / to do or perform. Taking action means that rather than just daydreaming about making personal changes, you will actually take steps to bring about your desired changes.</p>
<p>&#13;SELF-TALK:<br />&#13;One of the many reasons that most individuals are unsuccessful at eliminating a negative behavior is because of what they say to themselves. Self-talk is important because repeatedly it is an important part of what caused the negative behavior to begin with. </p>
<p>&#13;I&#8217;d like you to think about this for a moment: Let us say that you want to kick a cigarette addiction. The first thing that you are likely to say or think to yourself is: &#8220;I&#8217;m not going to smoke cigarettes anymore.&#8221; </p>
<p>&#13;It is universal for people to tell themselves what they aren&#8217;t going to do. Unfortunately, when we tell ourselves what we aren&#8217;t going to do, we are actually programming ourselves to do it!</p>
<p>&#13;SELF-TALK EXERCISE:<br />&#13;Say the following to yourself: I can&#8217;t see blue. I can&#8217;t see polka dots . . . . . . . </p>
<p>&#13;I&#8217;ll bet your mind showed you the color blue, and then it showed you polka dots. That&#8217;s because when we tell ourselves what we aren&#8217;t going to do, in order to make sense of it our mind must make an image of us doing whatever it is that we would like to stop doing. And when we imagine ourselves in a behavior, our mind compels us to produce that behavior.</p>
<p>&#13;SUMMARY:<br />&#13;In order to get rid of a negative behavior, we must first want or DESIRE to eliminate it. BELIEF is the element that leads us to MOTIVATION. MOTIVATION is the drive that leads us to DECISION. DECISION is the impetus to ACTION. Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a technology that we can use to facilitate beliefs, motivation, decisions, and actions.</p>
<p>&#13;When we tell ourselves what we aren&#8217;t going to do, we make a mental picture of ourselves using the behavior that we want to alter. And that mental image gives us an urge to participate in the negative behavior. So if we want to abolish a negative behavior, rather than tell ourselves what we won&#8217;t do, we must always tell ourselves what we will do. </p>
<p>&#13;To stop smoking say: &#8220;I can live without them.&#8221; </p>
<p>&#13;To eliminate cravings for high calorie foods or to stop chewing smokeless tobacco say: &#8220;I can live without it.&#8221; </p>
<p>&#13;To reduce stress say: &#8220;I&#8217;m relaxed and calm, both mentally and physically.&#8221; </p>
<p>&#13;To overcome insomnia say: &#8220;I fall asleep promptly, and sleep soundly throughout the entire night.&#8221;</p>

<p>Fortunately, it is not valid. Many patients who seek treatment from competent psychiatrists, psychoanalysts and psychologists do not always obtain satisfactory results. This doesn&#8217;t mean that everyone should stop seeking help from these specialists. Even a specialist doesn&#8217;t have a perfect record of successful therapy. What then is the objection to hypnosis? The theory that if you get rid of one symptom another symptom will take its place really holds no truth and is usually advanced by those who have had little or no experience in the hypnosis field.</p>
<p><span id="more-908"></span></p>
<p>However, a difference of opinion does exist even with those practicing hypnosis in this area. Some hypnotists &#8220;trade down&#8221; symptoms by replacing a serious symptom with a minor one, while others just remove the symptom. The latter is what a doctor does when he recommends aspirin for arthritis. He knows the aspirin will not cure the arthritis, but he wants to alleviate the symptom. To say that another symptom will replace the pain is unscientific&#8211;and untrue. The same is true of hypnosis. <strong><a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://hypnosis-info.info/gs/Dangers_Of_Hypnosis/908/2">Dangers Of Hypnosis</a></strong></p>
<p>A further objection to hypnosis is that the results are temporary. It is well to remember that most medical therapy is specifically directed to symptom removal. How permanent is most medical treatment? Once you couple hetero-hypnosis with self-hypnosis, you afford the client the opportunity of using suggestions for her own benefit any time they are needed. This can make symptom relief permanent.</p>
<p>As an example, I would see no harm in teaching a patient self-hypnosis for symptomatic relief from a problem of insomnia. It would certainly be better than physically depressing the higher brain centers with sleeping pills to produce unconsciousness every night. I don&#8217;t need to tell you that millions of dollars are spent every year on sleeping pills and people become dependent on them, needing more and more pills in order to produce sleep. <strong>Dangers Of Hypnosis</strong></p>
<p>Many accidental suicides stem from an overdose of sleeping pills. Yet, despite the inherent dangers of sleeping pills which are glaringly apparent, they are prescribed by the millions. Furthermore, how much effort is really made to get the patient off the sleeping pills? There are also more voluntary suicides by sleeping pills than by any other method. Perhaps if these drugs weren&#8217;t so readily available, many of these unfortunate individuals would be with us today. Learn to Exceed Your Expectations. <p><strong>Have you tried to lose weight in the past but failed? You may have been fighting yourself to do it. I’ll explain.</strong></p>
<p>There are two main parts to our mind: the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious part of you wants to lose weight and look good this upcoming season. Meanwhile, the subconscious wants you to continue to eat all the foods that make you feel comfortable and happy. Unfortunately for you, those tend to be composed of sugar and carbohydrates which only make your waist line grow. In a scenario like this one, the person ends up yo-yo-dieting because their “Will Power” can only last so long – literally. Will Power only gives you a short burst of energy. Once it’s gone. It’s just gone. The only thing left behind is your emotional stress and frustration which can lead to a vicious cycle of weight rebounding.</p>

<p>That is the reason why the problem of losing weight needs to be tackled at the source of where the mental conflict is – in your subconscious. The subconscious is where all your habits and patterns lie such as not eating healthy, not liking to exercise and drinking only soda. <p>Hypnosis Has Been Scientifically Proven To Work For Weight Loss.</p>
<p>Setting your mind to lose weight and motivating yourself to enjoy healthy habits is possible with Hypnosis. A significant number of studies (several of which are listed below), have demonstrated that adding hypnosis to a weight loss program significantly increases its success.</p>
<p>A 1996 study conducted at the University of Connecticut published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology found that, on average, people who used Hypnosis were able to lose 2.5 times more weight than a person not using Hypnosis. <p>In a research article titled, Hypnotherapy in weight loss treatment, a group of researchers found that in a test group of 60 participants, those that did not use Hypnosis only lost .5 lbs while the group using Hypnosis lost 17lbs. Why? Because the people who had access to Hypnosis sessions were able to achieve that weight loss combination that eludes most people today.</p>
<p>More proof of the ability of Hypnosis to boost a person’s weight loss was shown in January of 2004, when Dateline aired “Losing it: Dateline ultimate diet challenge.” The show compared some of the most well known methods known to losing weight including the Atkin’s diet, Slim Fast, Weight Watchers, extreme exercise with calorie restrictions, working with a diet coach and Hypnosis.</p>
<p>The top two weight loss techniques that worked were Hypnosis and the Atkins diet. Unfortunately for the man who used the Atkin’s diet (Rick Burns), while he lost weight, he also became sick. “Rick developed a painful case of gout, a condition he&#8217;d had before, that he suspected was a result of the diet.” His diet had to be modified.</p>
<p>Marc Merlis, the man who did Hypnosis along with exercising and eating healthy continued to happily lose weight.</p>
<p>“After three months under Hypnosis, his wife had a nickname for him. Incredibly, &#8220;droopy drawers&#8221; had lost the most so far, a staggering 40 pounds. That&#8217;s when droopy&#8217;s wife got in on the action. She went to the hypnotist to quit smoking. And guess what? Smoke free, fat free. Five months in, for the Merlis&#8217;s things couldn&#8217;t be better. And at their son&#8217;s bar mitzvah this May, lifting Marc was a piece of cake.”</p>

One of the things that I noticed about this weight loss challenge was how much the other contestants suffered by the calorie restrictions that they had to undergo. It’s hard to focus if you feel that you are starving.
