I often hear that hypnosis can help stop smoking, lose weight and relieve chronic pain. Does it really work well?
Would it work for ‘tic-like’ behaviors such as constant, tuneless humming, or chewing ice?
The Think & Lose program says: listen to a tape once and your subconscious mind will no longer crave sugary, unhealthy foods, but will crave healthy foods instead, and you’ll feel full and satisfied halfway through a meal you would normally finish. This allows you to lose pounds of excess weight and keep it off for good. I was wondering if this was really a scam or if this really does help you using hypnosis. I would prefer answers from those who’ve tried the product, but all help is welcome.
I recently bought some tapes and can’t be hypnotized. Is becoming hypnotized a myth?
I heard you can do just about anything with hypnosis, lose weight, gain muscle. Will it work with breast enlargements.
The definition of anxiety goes like this, “an abnormal and overwhelming sense of apprehension and fear often marked by physiological signs (as sweating, tension, and increased pulse)” Does it sound familiar to you? Don’t think that you are alone and as a matter of fact anyone that’s alive and breathing, suffers from some type of anxiety occasionally. However, it needs treatment or else anxiety consumes your life!
Anxiety is indeed a serious condition where the sufferer experience feelings like indecision, uncertainty, panic, fear and more. However most of the time anxiety is context related, hence while some feel anxious when talking to people, others might feel it when crossing the road.
With the growth of hypnotherapy, anxiety hypnosis has gained importance as one of the most preferred alternatives in treating phobia and anxiety. These days, one of the most typical grounds for person, seeking out the hypno therapist is for dealing with anxiety.
Here comes the million dollar question, how can self hypnosis help you in dealing with your particular anxiety? Well simple, anxiety hypnosis helps you in “re-programming” your brain.
Let’s delve deep! The human mind can be divided into two distinct parts. One part is the analytical, logical and conscious part. This part helps the brain in making decision. And then there is the subconscious level of the brain and this is the particular area where habits are engrained. The entire body function in which you hardly have any control like breathing, blinking your eyes etc comes from this part of the brain. Your subconscious mind is more like a computer, as all it knows is whatever you feed to it, hence cannot distinguish between good or bad, right or wrong! And for distinguishing, there is the logical and analytical conscious part of the brain.
Anxiety is caused by something that you experienced in the past or may be somebody has told you and the incidents are being engrained into your subconscious mind. So each time you hear about a hurricane it terrifies you. And perhaps you don’t want to go to the coast because you are worried about the hurricane! Although logically you know it’s silly to be scared when you are 1000 of miles apart from the cost, but still you just cannot shake off those feelings!
With anxiety hypnosis you will be able to bypass the logical part of your brain and successfully alter those stressful and anxious feelings which lie deeply in your subconscious mind. It’s more about re-programming your subconscious mind to show how illogical it is to be afraid of for nothing.
Anxiety hypnosis is a scientific way to speak directly with your subconscious mind and altering the bad habits without your conscious mind filtering out the data, which you try to feed it!
I’ve heard good and bad things about this. I don’t know what to think as there are “Licensed Hypnotherapists” so does that mean it works? Or do you think it does?
In probing the key to the question, “Does self-hypnosis very work?”, it is evident this it does. The key to successful self-hypnosis is practice, practice, practice. While it has been conceded that children are more easily susceptible to hypnosis, it may be harder for adults. The reason for this is that as adults, we are constantly thinking, planning, worrying, and multi-tasking. Self Hypnosis Tapes
However, children’s brains are like sponges and can easily absorb information since there aren’t as many distractions in their young lives. Self-hypnosis is based on the ability to allow the subconscious mind to receive commands and suggestions. One individual put this in a more logical context. He said, If you knew how to achieve a given result with your conscious mind, you wouldn’t need hypnosis. Thus, having the ability to clear your mind of all thoughts in order to focus and induce hypnosis is a task that takes time. Self Hypnosis Tapes
Can someone settle this dispute for me? Are they all the same…since all are meant to basically help change your outlook/mental well being? Can meditation and/or guided relaxation be used instead of self hypnosis to break bad habits? Or does self hypnosis teach you something different?
Just trying to end a dispute between two friends. **rolling my eyes**
