This is my first pregnancy so I have no frame of reference of my own… I just don’t like the idea of the epidural and the possible side effects – also it increases the chances of needing an episiotomy, another thing I really want to avoid if possible. Again, I was reading that natural tears generally heal easier and faster.

I was reading about HypBirth – where you do relaxation exercises that reduce the pain felt during labour. Anyone given birth using any hypnosis techniques? Any opinions on giving birth without pain relief please?
