			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I recently developed a fear of taking medications of any kind for no apparent reason.  If I have to take one, I inevitably end up having a panic attack from thinking too much about how I&#8217;ve never tried it before and I could be allergic or I could have a potentially fatal reaction to it, etc.  My mind just won&#8217;t stop having these terrible thoughts and I can&#8217;t seem to be able to control them.  It&#8217;sbeen so out of control, I ended up in the ER twice these past 2  months.  I&#8217;m thinking about trying hypnosis so that hopefully my brain can associate safe thoughts with medicine that is prescribed to me instead of uncontrollable fear.  Has anyone ever tried to get over a phobia through hypnosis?  Does it work?  What&#8217;s the process like?</p>

Guess I shouldve been alot more specific, thats my bad. I didnt mean cure like actually cure ADD, I meant can hypnosis help aid those with ADD. In the way that prescription drugs would, only without having to take the drugs. </p>
<p>Im not a fan of drugs, wether it be legal or not, unless its an herb or something like the Chinese and Indians used, so Im trying to go with hypnosis to help me study and learn and remember what I learn. Thanks.</p>

But if your insomnia is caused by your lifestyle, the best long-term solution is to change your lifestyle. In most cases, it is better to do one small change at a time, rather than trying to change everything at once. The latter approach is too ambitious for most people. Without fast results it is easy to get discouraged and give up. A healthier lifestyle has many more benefits than just improving your sleep.</p>

<p>Some of the most reliable ways to cure insomnia naturally are:</p>
<p>Try to include some physical activity into your day. Not only can exercises make you sleep better but you get other health benefits as well. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There&#8217;s nothing worse than having to get up in the morning after a sleepless night, trying to go about your day to day tasks, feeling as if you are running on an empty tank; you can&#8217;t think straight, your body feels heavy and all you want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep.  And yet, by the time darkness falls, your body seems to waken up and you just know that yet another sleepless night awaits you.  A self-fulfilling prophesy then ensues.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><span id="more-1638"></span></p>
<p>Some people get to sleep and then awaken after an hour or so, wide awake and alert for the remaining hours before dawn, sleepiness returning at dawn, just when you need to get up.  Others simply cannot get to sleep.  There are many variations of sleep disturbances, but whatever your particular pattern is, the effect on your day to day life is extremely debilitating.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In an ideal world, the norm is to go to bed at night, fall asleep within a few minutes and awaken approximately seven and a half hours later.  For some people it&#8217;s less, for some slightly more, but this is the average time required in sleep.  As you sleep your brain wave patterns alter from the normal beta pattern of waking consciousness to the alpha waves of deep relaxation and on to the delta waves of sleep and the theta waves of REM sleep (dreaming).  In normal sleep your brain waves pass through a cycle which takes about 90 minutes for each one and then the next cycle occurs, and this keeps happening throughout the night.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The theta wave (REM) stage of sleep is so essential to our well being that should you be deprived of it for very long you would become psychotic.  (I&#8217;m not making that up, or over dramatizing this effect &#8211; it has been shown in scientific research.) During this stage of REM sleep there is interaction between the different areas of your brain which allows conflicts to be resolved, and this is played out symbolically in your dreams.  You may not be aware of dreaming, but be assured you do. When deprived of sleep, your brain will ensure that what sleep you do have involves as much theta wave time as possible as a matter of sheer survival.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>So what has hypnosis got to do with all this?  In hypnosis your brain wave patterns also alter from beta to alpha-theta.  Hypnosis is normal and natural; it is that same state that you achieve when you are between wake and sleep whereby the alpha brain wave pattern may be observed.  And as you go into deeper hypnotic states the theta wave pattern is evident.  Thus by learning to use self-hypnosis, you are in effect also learning the art of getting to sleep.  You can actually learn HOW to get to sleep simply by listening to a hypnosis download.</p>

<p>For most of us we just go to sleep and we wake up and we have absolutely no idea of how it actually happens.  For those who have lain awake, tossing and turning our way through the night, there is now an easy (and natural) solution;  Armed with the knowledge of how our brain waves alter in sleep and that this is shown to be similar whilst in hypnosis, we now know HOW we can learn to get to sleep.</p>

<p>I am light, I am comfortable, I am at ease with myself.</p>

<p>All my tensions, worries and anxieties are gone.</p>

<p>(Repeat many times while breathing deeply and with your eyes closed.)</p>

<p>Step #5. Picture what you want your life to be.</p>

<p>Visualize every detail, every situation that you want to happen.</p>

<p>Imagine it So&#8230; as if it is really happening at this moment.</p>

<p>Step #6. Repeat step #4.</p>

<p>Breathe in, breathe out. Now&#8230; imagine yourself being surrounded by a bright, luminous light starting from your forehead until it fills the whole room.</p>

<p>Step #7. Wake Up!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Simply wake up when you&#8217;re ready and feel refreshed.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Repeat this procedure regularly as needed.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>This exercise simply helps you clear your thoughts.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>It may also lead you to Self-Revelations that will help you assess the situation on How you want to live your dreams.</p>

<p>The human mind is an amazing work of art. It is like the most complex painting and sometimes what one sees on the surface is very different from what you may see as you take a closer look. You may also see a reflection of the fruit in that silver goblet. All of this is seen very clearly&#8230;and yet there is no such thing as silver paint. In fact, we really do SEE pictures. When afraid of something we have the ability to run full movies in our mind, not just an ability to create still pictures. As we focus on those &#8220;things&#8221; which are on the surface, we are ever further distracted away from what is going on underneath.</p>

Yes, there will be an external trigger; it is only a trigger because of a pattern match with something in your inner mind, something which may even be in the dim and distant past or hidden within your subconscious. <p>&#13;<br />
THERE ARE FOUR TYPES OF INSOMNIA </p>
<p><span id="more-1015"></span></p>
<p>&#13;<br />
PSYCHO-REACTIVE INSOMNIA: Psycho-reactive Insomnia is generally caused by tension. It is generally worry that is keeping the person awake. In addition, they may begin to worry about getting to sleep because they have to awaken in the morning. Insomnia sufferers often worry that they may become ill or die from lack of sleep.  </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
ENDOGENOUS INSOMNIA: This is often caused by a discomfort within the body ranging from indigestion to pain.  </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
EXOGENOUS INSOMNIA: This is caused by non-physical disturbances such as noise or loud music. This is the easiest type of sleep disturbance to beat. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
FUNCTIONAL INSOMNIA: This is caused by a physical problem in the subject&#8217;s sleep-wakefulness center in the brain. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Many insomniacs develop an irrational fear of going to sleep because they expect to lie awake. This negative type of expectation can cause a bout of insomnia all by itself.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
HERE ARE THE FACTS</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
1. No one ever became ill from not having enough sleep. The body and mind will always get at least the minimum amount of sleep that it needs, no matter what. If you sleep less one night the next night you will get additional sleep to make up the loss. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
2. Our internal clock brings about a valley of fatigue in cycles. Every four to six hours you will experience the maximum amount of fatigue, and this is when it is easiest for you to fall asleep. After that you will experience a renewed feeling of energy and it will become difficult to fall asleep. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
3. Even if you think you were not able to sleep a wink all  night long, it has been proven that we all sleep during the night. Sometimes you feel that you&#8217;ve been lying awake thinking, but actually you have been sleeping lightly and dreaming. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
4. Trying to fall asleep: There is a law of nature called &#8220;The Law of Reversed Effect.&#8221; The law says that if you &#8220;try&#8221; to do something, you will get the opposite. And the harder you &#8220;try,&#8221; the more you will get the opposite. So, trying to fall asleep will insure that you will remain awake. Do not &#8220;try&#8221; to fall asleep, and do not try to will yourself to sleep. Merely allow yourself to fall asleep.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
5. Alcohol will put you to sleep: This may be true, as alcohol is a depressant. However, as soon as the drink wears off, you will awaken abruptly and it will become harder than ever to fall asleep. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
6. Sleeping pills will help:  It is the dream phase of sleep in which we get our rest. Narcotics suppress the dream phase of sleep (REM sleep). That is why one generally awakens feeling more tired than before going to sleep after using pills. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
EFFECTING A CURE </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
1. See when you feel most exhausted in the evening. From then on, every evening at least an hour before that time, take a bath that is slightly warmer than body temperature for twenty minutes. A shower will not have the intended effect. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
2. Have a warm drink, preferably not coffee or tea because of the caffeine, which will wake you up. It&#8217;s best to drink warm milk if you can tolerate it.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
3.  Stop dwelling on problems and think about something soothing. Do not think about what you need to do tomorrow. If you are concerned about forgetting what you have to do tomorrow, write it down. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
4. Stay away from stimulating thoughts and shows on TV. If you must read, then read something that is boring. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
5. Reserve your bed for sleep.  Watch TV or read only while sitting in a chair or while on a couch. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
6. Get into bed at least twenty minutes before your valley of fatigue. Once you are in bed, if worries begin to pop into your thoughts, repeat this mantra several times to yourself, &#8220;I&#8217;ll think about it tomorrow.&#8221; This will help to put a halt to the excessive thinking. Do not try to make your mind blank and don&#8217;t try to fall asleep. Just allow yourself to rest. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
7. For Endogenous Insomnia, you should eliminate the discomfort to the best of your ability. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
8. For Exogenous Insomnia, make your room as quiet as you can. If your partner snores, you can move to another room. Running a fan motor can also help induce sleep, as it will tend to cover up loud noises.  The monotonous drone of the fan usually proves to be very hypnotic. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />

<p>My second question is, can a hypnotist completely take over the personality of his patient? I mean, can a hypnotist turn a peace-loving innocent type of person into a violent and cruel kind of criminal?</p>

<p>Sleep is important for an individual&#8217;s body to function, mature, and heal itself after an injury. The majority of researchers find that adults need between six and eight hours of sleep nightly. A number of people, however, are unable to manage this. Almost 20 million Americans alone experience significant difficulty sleeping nightly.</p>

<p>Many circumstances that create sleeping problems are responsible for this startling statistic. For instance, a significant number of individuals snore. Loud snoring sometimes can cause sleeping persons to awaken, in a start, at the noise. In addition, individuals whose significant other snores heavily may even are unable to sleep while this racket is occurring in the same room!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Snoring can sometimes also be symptomatic of a related sleeping problem known as sleep apnea. Sleep apnea happens when a person stops breathing while sleeping. Sleep apnea can be from blockages in the nasal and sinus passages, or because of excessive weight. This condition is potentially deadly, and persons who experience sleep apnea usually wear a mask that delivers pressurized air to their lungs while they are asleep.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Sleep apnea can cause narcolepsy, another common sleeping dysfunction. Sometimes, however, individuals who do not suffer from sleep apnea may have narcolepsy. Persons who suffer from this condition often fall asleep suddenly and without warning in any place or at any time. If an individual has been found to have narcolepsy, the doctor usually recommends that individual to refrain from driving until the disorder is under control; sleeping while driving is very dangerous!</p>

<p>Still another potentially dangerous sleeping disorder is referred to as sleepwalking, but is sometimes described referred to in medical literature as somnambulism. Individuals who walk in their sleep perform the same behaviors &#8211; cleaning house, drinking, walking, et cetera &#8211; that they do during their waking hours. Nearly 20 percent of the world&#8217;s population may walk in their sleep.</p>

<p>Sometimes, people have often documented cases of people who have left their homes or committed murder while sleepwalking! Most of the time, however, the one who is sleeping is in significantly greater peril than the people witnessing the event. The recommended approach is to get the individual back to bed.</p>

<p>Persons diagnosed with insomnia often have problems falling asleep at night. When they can sleep, they typically do not sleep soundly and awaken easily. They may only sleep for a few hours before experiencing this condition.</p>

<p>The effects of this disorder include sleepiness and impaired physical coordination. Despite the fact that those who experience insomnia may suffer from sleepiness, however, chronic insomnia sufferers may find that they are constantly hyper-alert, and cannot easily relax or remain calm. Other potential effects of insomnia include physical and mental exhaustion. </p>

<p>A large number of believe they know how to cure insomnia. Some of these include some interesting home remedies for insomnia. One such cure is a concoction of honey, tea, and milk, although there is no concrete evidence showing that this compound, or insomnia hypnotherapy. Therapists who use insomnia hypnosis teach insomniacs to experience good sleep patterns by introducing a series of suggestive thoughts that helps them to sleep more easily. Clients learn the skills of self-hypnosis to help them treat their insomnia. This approach is a type of insomnia hypnosis that is often very effective in treating suggestive clients, but is less beneficial for those who think analytically. A quite similar strategy, referred to as Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, is much more beneficial with these individuals. </p>
