You guys do realise that this fact is not confined to Christians dont you?? (This is in response to another user tonight stating Christians are healthier).

Any group who has a belief in any kind of higher power displays better health. Also, this has been observed in those who meditate and undergo hypnosis. When we pray, meditate or enter any state of deep relaxation our brain receives health benefits…but this is in NO WAY exclusive to Christians…through relaxation or meditation, atheists receive the same.
And yes, people benefit from the community often provided through church…as they do through other non-religious types of community…
do not be fooled…you dont have to be a Christian for this!!
…@ question….NO it has not. It has been proven ANYONE who meditites/prays is healthier. THAT is my point.
Ade…read any first year University level psychology text book and you will find references abound.
Dogstar…Burton, Western and Kowalski…Wiley. 2nd ed.2009.

Dogstar…same as above.
FYOP…my point exactly.

Conversational hypnosis tricks and persuasion techniques are like spy submarines. You can go about doing what you want, without the other person knowing they are being persuaded. You engage in a conversation while inserting trigger phrases or sentences, which will eventually get you the kind of reaction you want.

When it comes to conversational hypnosis tricks and persuasion techniques, whatever you say to another person will bounce back to you.

Before the advent of “sleeping pills” and other medically proved sleeping aids, hypnosis was very much in use as a sleep inducing treatment for many who suffered from insomnia. There is a long history of the relationship between hypnosis and sleep.

Insomnia is a sleep illness, the most ordinary causes is pressures at home and from work, financial or marital problems and certain medicinal situations. Signs of insomnia are usually lack of sleep for long intervals of time, disrupted sleep or unable to go back to sleep once the sleep has been disrupted.

Self hypnosis is a term which originates from hypnosis. Before self hypnosis two persons are necessary to perform hypnosis, one act as hypnotist and another one as subject undergoing hypnosis. The involvement of two persons makes hypnosis a complex process because at times the person who needs hypnosis is too shy to talk to another person regarding any mental or physical problem.

Hypnosis can be described as a mental state in which mind is completely free from any kind of distortion and is open to suggestions. The difference between normal hypnosis and self hypnosis is very minute. Self hypnosis is much easier to perform because any one undergoing this kind of hypnosis is free from any stress which may exist because of the presence of another person.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if by now you’ve noticed that self-hypnosis is a key half of my total method to golf mind improvement. In fact, a good amount of of the golf psychology techniques that I talk about in my articles start off amidst the phrases “If you are familiar in a quick system for taking yourself into self-hypnosis, then use it now.” So today, I’m going to describe a simple technique for taking yourself into a safe, light and relaxing trance. Hypnosis Psychologist

Using it will help you in getting the most out of the golf psychology ideas included in my other articles, newsletters and posts. You can also use this technique to calm and relax yourself at times of stress and anxiety, like taking an exam, meeting the boss, first-tee nerves or standing over an important shot on the golf course. As you’ll soon realise, this “Finger Breathing” technique does need a bit of imagination, but you must already be pretty imaginative if you’re looking to use golf psychology to improve your golf! Hypnosis is something I would call the great ‘stab in the dark’ technique because people who do practice it are going into the brain without a map, nor a compass to guide them to where they should be going. The brain is a mysterious place, and in the five thousand years of enlightenment, modern science has only been able to fathom about 10 – 15% of the power of the brain.

This accounts for a small fraction of what the brain is capable of and sometimes when we think about it, the potential of what we can do is really quite frightening. Brainwave entrainment works better than hypnosis techniques because hypnosis techniques are blunt, over generalised and its applications are unfounded. It places a message or regressive signals within the subconscious without realising certain things – is the person in the state of hypnosis, really in the state of hypnosis itself? There are many levels of ‘unconsciousness’, and the state that hypnosis tries to get to is very specific.

Of all the tools at our disposal for bettering ourselves in all the ways we can, what could ever be more powerful than language and conversation? Through conversation you can direct the attention of others toward whatever you like. When you are quite proficient at conversation, you might even be said to be hypnotic. This, as it turns out is not just a casual turn of phrase. It rather gives reference to the true science and art of conversational hypnosis.

Conversational hypnosis is language directed toward the goal of holding another’s attention and adjusting their mood and behavior. One conversational hypnosis technique is to first talk about the obvious good points of whatever is being discussed. Then take the objection, whatever it might be, and change the way it is being looked at into something more enjoyable. Here’s an example of this in action: You have received a promotion at work, but it requires you and your family to move abroad. Upon hearing this news, your spouse is upset with the situation because it requires the whole family to uproot and move. Begin by holding the emotional state that you would like your spouse to hold. Then you can start talking. By pointing out that the promotion comes with a sizable increase in pay, and puts you in the running for another promotion later, which will give you the opportunity to choose where you want to live, you can change your spouse’s mood. At this point, your spouse is much more likely to be swayed to think of the promotion as a good thing. Then simply reframe the situation by stating the very objections in a much more positive way. For example, you could say that it is a good opportunity to travel, and anything else that makes this promotion a good thing for the family. So, in the end what you have done is to put your spouse in a more receptive mood, and then gave some reasons to be happy about the whole situation. This is very often enough to change the behavior of anyone at all.
