I don’t know , I would imagine that it would be very hard though if that was possible. Although they say Yoga helps. It allow your mind to focus when it needs to! I would just go to a professional-yeah they are expensive but still they know what they are doing .
Their are also self help books that help many people- I always wanted to try 1
No. : ) It’s like trying to tickle yourself, your mind knows its coming so it prepares itself and you don’t get surprised by it, therefore can’t work.
You have to remember that hypnosis is all about suggestibility and meditation. To simply answer your question, yes, you can.
Now that doesn’t mean that you can tell yourself to cluck like a chicken each time you hear the door bell ring!
Try this:
Get as comfortable as you’ve ever been. Sit in your favorite chair, or just lay in bed. Whatever works for you. Then put out both of your hands. You will feel very silly, but start saying things like this to yourself:
“I have a big red balloon in tied to my left wrist, you see? It is full of helium, and it wants to go up up up… it is tied to my wrist… as it takes flight… it pulls my wrist with it… up up up… the red balloon is lighter than air and it slowly rises up into the sky…”
and also
“I have a heavy bag of stones tied to my right wrist. This bag is very heavy and I have been carrying it a long time… the stones are round and smooth, but they are very heavy… the string tugs my arm… the stones want to go down… down down down… they are so heavy…”
Do this for about 5 or 10 minutes, as long as you can go.
Then open your eyes. Is your left hand high up in the air and your right sagging really low?
This is probably one of the most basic hypnosis exercises.
(Try this on a friend!)
Yes, self-hypnosis, or autohypnosis is possible… You would have to make use of autosuggestion, or self-suggestion. It is often carried out by listening to a CD…
Self hypnosis is a great tool as a means for self improvement and would get results for new/improved skills and focus. Self hypnosis is like a muscle – the more you use it, the stronger it gets.
Begin first with an audio, then create your own.
