I can’t help you on that decision, but what I can tell you is that I quit cold turkey. Just through them away. It was hard, but if I can do it, you can to. Good Luck!!!
I quit almost 8 months ago and did it cold turkey. That is the best way to do it… you need to get the nicotine out of your body. Drink lots of water and juices and after 72 hours the nicotine is gone. Then it is just a matter of being strong mentally to not smoke. Nicotine Replacements like gum, patch, etc. only prolong getting the nicotine out of your body. There is a great website called whyquit.com Check it out. Lots of great information and has a great message board.
Nicocure is a patch that is all natural and it helps with the side effects while you are trying to stop smoking.
It also gives you a horrible taste in your mouth when you smoke so this will help deter you from wanting to light up.
Oh yeah it is a patch.
I know hypnosis has very good results. But only if you are serious about doing it for you, not because someone else wants you to.
Have you considered making your own self hypnosis recording first? There are a heap of scripts and good advice on ‘how to’ make a free self hypnosis recording at http://hypnosisonline.com.au
If that fails, try seeing a hypnotherapist. One of the main reasons hypnotherapy is successful is the hypnotherapist will work with you to address the subconscious reason as to why you smoke.
This is something that a recording can’t do, but the recording would still be useful to assist after a visit or, I would imagine, even after laser.
I gave up cold turkey and put on a lot of extra weight. When you use hypnosis it is generally easier, there is usually no weight gain and generally it has a pretty high rate of long term success.
Good luck whichever way you go. Quitting will be one of the smartest things you’ve ever done!
I have been a certified Hypnotist for over 50 years. Hypnosis worked for me more than forty times but about 6-8 months later someone would offer me a smoke and I would have just 1 and here we go again . two cartons a week in less than 2 weeks.l The last time I quit was 35 months ago. I AM CLEAN
yes I still want one from time to time One thing you can believe, you never get completely over the desire. It took major heart surgery and a month in the hospital to prove it to me. Some times I am a slow learner.
Here’s something that will make you stop how about 35 radiation treatments for larynx cancer then an operation to remove your voice box and cut a hole in your neck to breath through that makes suckin on cig’s hard to do so it made me quit Just put um down fore its too late like me ha ha ha Least I didn’t get lung cancer like most people do…
I’d have to say the best results will have to come from you. No matter what treatment you choose you will be the only one getting results. I’m going through this myself and it feels like something vital is missing from my life without cigarettes. I guess that’s what drives addiction and I’m in no way out of the woods yet but if I want to live and have use of both of my legs there’s no other answer for me but to quit. You can use hypnosis but if you don’t want it to work, it won’t. So it really is a matter of will power over desire, my friend. I hope both of us can beat this, I know I have to, so good luck!
