Meditation, guided relaxation, and self hypnosis? Is there really a difference?
Can someone settle this dispute for me? Are they all the same…since all are meant to basically help change your outlook/mental well being? Can meditation and/or guided relaxation be used instead of self hypnosis to break bad habits? Or does self hypnosis teach you something different?
Just trying to end a dispute between two friends. **rolling my eyes**

Subtle differences, there is no one way, you just do what is working for you.
I just read books on good habits and success so that I break old ones, works for me.
From first hand experience, guided relaxation and meditation don’t do anything specific to break bad habits, but for general health and stress.
Hello
Yes they are different.
As a meditation teacher & hypnotherapist this is a common question http://www.holisticpathstowisdom.co.uk join our forum you can talk about such matters.
Hypnosis tends to be for healing, it is direct, aimed at the issue you wish to change. Your mind is very focused on creating precise change.
Meditation is about total enlightenment & the focus on on a single thing which does not change. If the mind wanders, which it is allowed to do in Hyp, within Med you have to bring the focus back.
So intent & aim are the difference.
