I wear a bite guard and have for about 4 years. That’s fine but I still have the habit and I can feel the fallout in my jaw, neck, and shoulder. I take calcium, magnesium, and potassium every day for muscle relaxation. I don’t clench during the day, only when I’m asleep. I do have OCD but I’m not willing to take psych meds for anxiety (I’m doing great with CBT for behaviors). I don’t have any unusual stressors in my life.

I’ve looked at the various devices on the market and they don’t seem very useful for most people. I won’t get Botox shots – period.

Have any of you with this habit successfully cured it with hypnosis, auto-hypnosis, Christian prayer, physical exercises, or some combination?
“Bruxism” actually covers both grinding and clenching – just to be clear. I only clench but the effects are similar. I’ve lost a tooth from it.
