Hypnosis as a diet tool?
Have you ever used hypnosis as a diet tool? If so, can you share some details? What was the process like? Cost? Did it work? How successful? Did the results last? I
I’d like to lose at least 30 pounds. Have done Weight Watchers and LA Weightloss and was relatively successful with both. But after leaving each program I managed to gain back the weight. Other than walking, I don’t make the time to exercise.

I have not used it for diet but for psychological issues and it has helped me. Here is a forum where I am sure you will find information about that. http://uncommonforum.com/viewforum.php?f=16
good luck

Hypnosis can be a great tool to help you manage/ lose weight. As a hypnotherapist I have helped many clients achieve and maintain goal weights.
In hypnotherapy, we don’t really care to use the word diet. Diet implies starvation and sacrifice, which is not really what we want.
There can be many reasons for gaining weight; emotional, physical(medical), stress, habits, etc.
I had a client that came to me for weight control, we had a good first session, and we worked on it habitually. The next week she came back and had gained 5 pounds. As a result, I then went for cause. It turned out that she had an affair a few years ago and that is when she started to gain the weight. She had never really forgiven herself, and subconsciously she was gaining the weight so that men would see her as unattractive thus saving her from having another affair. We worked through the guilt she was feeling, and the weight started coming off.
It could just be a matter of bad habits and poor nutrition.
Hypnosis is very effective for weight control.
As for cost, it depends where you live. On the west coast sessions cost anywhere from $75 -$125. Then as you move east the price tends to come down a little.
The results will last if you are motivated to lose the weight. Kind of like smokers. If they don’t want to quit, hypnosis generally doesn’t work for them.
Just as a side note, most hypnotherapists will require a medical referral to work with weight loss over 20 pounds.
I would check your local yellow pages, make some calls, and find a therapist that will give you a consultation and see if hypnosis will be right for you.
Good luck.
