How does hypnotism work and does it work for anxiety?
I have persistent anxious thoughts about the same things involving my relationship and relationships in general (like whether or not I will ever get married) and my therapist is a certified hypnotist as well. I figure it can’t hurt to try it, seeing as I’ve tried everything else to become less needy and dependant, and anxious, including medication. I’ve heard multiple things about hypnosis. Does it actually work?

Yes it works for a great number of people – I know one person who quit smoking after only 3 sessions – just didn’t want it anymore. I also knew someone who swore they lost weight and kept it off because of it.
It works by implanting a thought into your subconcious – basically instead of having to do something 20 different times to make it a habit, they over ride it and make it a habit without that work. (by habit I mean a neuropathway that is used over and over so the brain automatically defaults to it).
I don’t think it could hurt anyway.
Hello Beverly
Yes & Yes.
If you like & trust your hypnotherapist then go for it as I think that you will find it beneficial.
Good Luck x
