Has anyone had any success with hypnotherapy for weight loss?
I weigh 130 and want to weigh 120. Here’s the deal – my body LOVES being 130. I can’t seem to gain weight here and I eat whatever I want. BUT I look good and feel MUCH better at 120. (I am 5’5 and 38 years old. I know if I watch diet and add more exercise I will lose 10 lbs, so don’t really need that advice from anyone!) Also – how fast can one lose w/hypnosis?
Argh-I know. Thanks Bryan. I am just being lazy!!

hypnosis really only helps if you have an eating problem…doesn’t sound like the case…you know what you need to do…save your money…you can do it…I believe in you:)
As a hypnotherapist, I can tell you that hypnotherapy focuses on particular areas, habit reconditioning and behavior modification primarily. So, if you can see where changes in your behavior would help, then hypnotherapy can help you. See also below for another idea.
First though, you may want to ask why you “want” to be 120 lb. From the height-weight charts, 130 is right in the range for your height. 120 is also in the range but on the lower end. Your own body is telling you that it wants to be 130, which puts you in a vast minority, as many people in the world these days have bodies that seem to want to be way overweight. So maybe hypnotherapy to make you more comfortable with your body at its “natural” weight might be helpful? Just a suggestion.
A hypnotherapist could also take the approach of speaking to your subconscious while you are under hypnosis and simply asking it to adjust your weight down to 120, IF it is healthy for you. Hokey as it sounds, such suggestions often have an effect.
There are many good hypnotherapists around. Try to find one who is expeienced. Hypnosis by telephone is also very popular these days.
Good luck to you!
