Do you think Hypnosis is real?!?!?
A friend of mine used hypnotherapy to lose weight, and absolutely swears by it. I was watching http://www.hypnosis.edu/webtv/ and it seems pretty interesting, but I have to ask… do you think hypnotherapy is an effective treatment for psychological disorders?!?!

I think it is a placebo, meaning that if you believe in it, it will work. I myself am a skeptic, and do not see any proof in how it could work, but if one could trick the mind into following the order that he/she speaks, then hypnosis would be quite plausible. I think the best thing to do is try it out, and if it doesn’t work, you can get a refund
Many people, like spaghetti, believe it is just the placebo effect that makes hypnosis so successful. However, from personal experience, I’m going to have to differ on this opinion. Many times I have had used self hypnosis, especially when I was first learning it, and didn’t necessarily believe it would really work. Even though I didn’t put my belief in the power of my own mind, it still worked, even before I even noticed it.
I remember doing self hypnosis for clearing my skin, and the next day someone commented that my skin looked smoother and clearer. I couldn’t believe it until I noticed it myself in the mirror. I didn’t necessarily believe it would work, and I didn’t tell anyone that I did it, yet somehow it actually made my skin clearer.
I suspect that hypnosis works so well, even if you don’t really believe in it, because you actually go into a brain state where you can access all your beliefs about yourself and can even find a place where you can form a link with your own body. Many studies have shown that hypnosis alters brain functioning, and that we can actually influence every cell in our body with pure thought and visualization. By changing our beliefs and our thoughts, we can change our actions that we take in every day life–in the case of weight loss hypnosis, changing that cookie into an apple, or that glass of wine into cool, refreshing water.
I think Hypnosis is completely real. Few days back I read an article on sports hypnosis where plenty of real life examples are given, you can go through that one here in http://www.mysticsportsline.com/mystic-articles/mystic-mystic-sports-helpline-hypnosis.html.
As yo are concerned with hypnosis and its effect on psychological disorders you are free to discuss and learn new fact on this respective subject in http://www.mysticboard.com/hypnosis
i could give you a long weighted answer to this question, going into the science asnd research about hypnosis but i’ll keep it short and simple

Sorry, Chris, but I think this is just spam for the advertised site.
Anyone wishing to train as a hypnotherapist should stop thinking that it’s something you can learn either quickly, cheaply or online.
I mean, if someone offered you a quick, cheap, online course in being a pilot would you fall for it? And more to the point, would you want to be flown by a pilot who had done a quick, cheap, online course?
