People all over the world seek cures for diseases, help for addictions, and solutions to everyday problems. Hypnosis treatment, whether self-induced or done by with the aid of a professional, is a means for people to empower themselves and overcome some personal demons.

A medical study back by scientific research stated that hypnosis therapy was very beneficial, but not because the hypnosis was therapeutic. The suggestions made during a hypnosis session were the key elements to changing a person’s perspective with the hope of altering behaviors in the near future.

Hypnosis therapy has been widely used to treat gastrointestinal disorders. Pain management is also a wide area where people seek the aid of hypnosis.

Interesting studies point out that it is not necessarily the hypnosis that assists in pain management; rather it is the person’s own individual susceptibility to suggestion that influences pain. Someone who is anticipating great pain will often feel great pain. A person who has been convinced that the pain is tolerable will most likely have an uneventful recovery. It has been noted that hypnosis is a state of high suggestibility, not necessarily a state of mind control.

People often seek out ways to do treatment with self-hypnosis. Self-hypnosis has its basis of logic in the fact that suggestion can often increase motivation to accomplish a goal. People who use positive affirmations often have a greater drive to make positive changes in their lives. Listening to aids such as tapes or CDs can help the person remain focused while still avoiding professional intervention.

Hypnosis therapy is often used to treat patients with certain mental disorders. By removing the guards that remain on the mind while in a conscious state, therapists are able to communicate with otherwise hysteric or inaccessible patients.

People with multiple personalities have much success during hypnotism, though there is an inherent risk in removing mental walls between personas. It is not uncommon for people to become violent while hypnotized, or to have sessions of extreme emotion.

Once the subconscious mind is touched, it often cannot be easily corralled. A trained hypnotherapist is necessary to deal with situations of this nature.

Though the uses for hypnosis are many, most people seek out hypnosis therapy to help them accomplish a personal, self-improvement goal. Weight loss, insomnia, smoking, skin issues, bad habits, and fear are all reasons why people seek out this kind of treatment.

Hypnosis in the medical world has as many implications are there are treatable issues. Most of the hypnosis techniques learned by the average person are not sufficient to treat others. Treatment using hypnosis is something professional medical exerts employ to help maximize the benefits of chemical and physical therapies.

By manipulating the subconscious with the power of suggestion, the idea that the body can and should heal will be implanted within the patient’s subconscious. Once the patient believes they will heal, any medications or synthetic assistant means may be significantly reduced or eliminated. Placebos are often used in conjunction with hypnosis to solidify the idea that recovery is imminent.

Hypnotherapy for Insomnia – Hypnotherapy Sydney

My approach to treating insomnia is a holistic one. I like to get information about the patient with regard to any particular stresses the patient may be experiencing. I will also inquire about lifestyle, occupation, nutrition, alcohol, cigarette consumption and recreational drug use.

I have seen a variety of patients for insomnia: A fighter pilot, a flight engineer, a company executive and various other people. In many cases the main cause of the insomnia is the self-talk or monologue that goes on in the patient’s mind when the patient goes to bed. It often prevents sleep occurring.

In other cases the patient make wake up long before it is time to get up and starts to think about work-related issues. The patient needs to be instructed to “lock the thoughts away” until the next morning.

Josie Hadley, a very successful and experienced hypnotherapist has identified the types of monologues typical of insomniacs. Here are three types of monologues that may sound familiar to you:

The Clock Watcher: “Oh no, it’s one thirty in the morning. I’ve been in bed since eleven and I still can’t sleep. What can I do? I won’t be able to work tomorrow. I’ll look worn out and drained. I’ll feel terrible. Oh no, now it’s almost two o’clock. Even if I get to sleep in five minutes I’ll only be able to sleep four hours. I can’t get by on only four hours sleep.”The Doomsayer: “I can’t sleep and I’m completely miserable. Everything is messed up lately anyway. I can’t seem to make anything work out, not even getting to sleep. Life is just one negative experience after another. Now insomnia is another punishment I have to endure.”

The Fixer: “I have to figure out of this one or I’m going to be in deep trouble … What if I try to … I’ll say this to him and this is what he’ll say back … Oh there’s no way out and all I can do is go around in circles. What if …”Sleep is an elusive state, you can’t force it; it has to come to you.

The majority of work in cases of insomnia has to be done prior to hypnosis being induced. Resolution is not always achieved by just “implanting” a post hypnotic suggestion that the patient will “sleep like a baby.” Post hypnotic suggestion for sleep will work better once the underlying causes of the insomnia have been uncovered and dealt with. In the next article I will discuss Hypnotherapy in Sydney for smoking.

With the increasing stressful levels, many are prone to sleeping disorder called insomnia. People suffering from insomnia find it very difficult to sleep and wake up to slightest disturbances caused. Though there are many medications available in the market, these drugs are prescribed by authorized doctors for a shorter period for treating insomnia. They are highly addictive and also cause side effects. The other best way through which one can overcome insomnia and find out the reason behind the occurrence of the problem is sleep hypnosis.

Hypnosis is termed as the process of relaxing and bring your brain to unconsciousness state of mind while you are awake. At this particular state, brain is more open to suggestions and is more active than the normal working condition. Now, the therapist will improve and provide suggestions to your brain such that it follows them and improves your overall performance and activeness. Sleep hypnosis can be used to treat primary, middle and critical insomnia.

Therapist and individual who is undergoing hypnosis treatment, agree on the approach of the treatment before a session is carried out and discuss on the points that are to be changed and provide positive vibrations to the brain. This helps one achieve their target and will provide the cure for insomnia. Positive wavelengths provided to brain act more in the unconscious state, which then circulate throughout even when a person is awake. It is very important that you train and control your brain in such situations to attain maximum response and positive attitude and thinking.

Therapists influence frequencies of sleep under hypnosis to attain peaceful sleep and improve your sleeping pattern and cure insomnia. Apart from curing insomnia, sleep hypnosis can be utilized to cure different health issues without the fear of being addicted as the process is conducted in a natural way without any medication. You can discontinue the sessions when you feel you have attained the required cure to your sleeping disorder. You can observe the changes right from the first session carried out which improves your sleeping. Once the first session is carried out successfully, the next session is carried out in order to find the real cause to your problem.

Now that you have understood the importance of sleep hypnosis, if you or any one of the member of your family suffer from insomnia, it is high time that you visit a well know hypnotist therapist you will help cure the problem without any side effects.

I have been an insomniac for 3 1/2 years now which has disrupted my daily activity and school work. i often only get 2-3 hours sleep a night. i will reveal my age by telling you im 15 to maybe help with the answer.

I have tried absolutely everything but nothing has ever worked.
I have tried physiotherapy, hypnosis, natural drugs, unnatural drugs (legal), milk before bed, going to bed extremely early (7:30pm), staying outside half an hour before bed, deep breathing, herbal teas, different types of food, not eating before bed, doing heaps of exercise, counselors, doctors, clinics, different beds in different rooms, not eating after dinner, not watching tv or playing electronic games, acupuncture, thinking as blankly as possible, not swimming near bed time and getting massages before bed.

i bet that if you name something, i would have tried it.

i often go to bed at 10:30 these days and don’t get to sleep until about 3am. i will then wake at about 4:30am and then get back to sleep at 6:30am, staying asleep until i have to wake up at 7:30.

This problem wouldn’t be as bad if i was old and jobless, but i am in secondary school and need to focus on school work and being social. both of which are incredibly hard when i am so tired.

the main reason i don’t sleep is because a million thoughts go into my brain. i can’t stop them and they are very constant. every time i try to think blank, something will pop into my head. The thoughts are completley random. The thoughts may be of something i did that day, something i did years ago, something completley made up or something i might do in the future. The thoughts are often imaginitive and are all over the place.

Nothing significant happened when this problem started so i am completely confused.

My diet is normal and i do a normal amount of exercise.

Please help!

I’m a chronic insomniac and have been working with my DR. on the problem for the past 8 years. Any ideas on what can help. Here’s what hasn’t. Gave up caffine, bedroom used for sleeping only (no tv), regular exercise, routine bedtime rituals, not eating after a certain hour, hot bath 90 min before bed time. Making my bed the most comfortable place I know. Hypnosis (cured my smoking habit so I thought I’d try). Fan on in bedroom to drown out noises that could wake me up when I do fall asleep, aroma therapy, calming music, and reading books. OTC’s like including tylonol pm, and Nyquil. (works for a coupled days then doesn’t) RX such as Lunesta, Ambien and Rozerem (to mention a few) all with no results. The only thing that gives relief at all is Xanex, but it’s controlled and after 5 years on it, my tolerance is very high and it’s not working well anymore. Any suggestions? I need to get some sleep! Thanks
**oh, and I forgot to mention all the herbal products I tried. Please help.
I asked the dr about a sleep study, but she says it’s not sleep apnea, so it wouldn’t help. I asked for other benzos and she says I’ll have the same tolerance. I’m on both an antidepressant and an antihistamine, neither of which helped. Some great answers though. As for the pot, if it could be prescribed I absolutely would try, but at this time, it’d cost me my career. We have manditory testing at my job. Oh yeah, I’ve done the graveyard shift too. Same issue only worse. I know it seems I have an answer for almost anything, but keep trying please. 8 years is far too many and I’m fed up. Thanks so much!!

I’m currently wondering if a persons health be it mental or physical, or their living enviornments or they way they carry out life has anything to do with not being able to be hypnotized. I suffer from chronic fatigue here lately, as well as insomnia and would like to be able to turn to hypnosis for further help. The problem is I have listened to many online hypnosis tapes and even was fortunate enough to be a member from an audience to be hypnotized at a local county fair recently but to no avail. Ive tried relaxing and using headphones as well. The closest thing i have come to hypnosis is that while watching a video recently my body became very numb and tingly.

It is now common knowledge that hypnosis has superior results for weight loss, quitting smoking, boosting confidence, stress reduction, memory improvement and so on. However, few know of the powerful effects hypnosis can have on the physical body, and its healing and immune systems.

This field is known as Medical Hypnosis. The natural results often seem miraculous. Unfortunately, since this tool cannot be easily analyzed by scientific methods it has been pushed to one side.

Nonetheless, Medical Hypnosis has a very long, well documented history. For instance, starting in 1846, Dr. James Esdaile used only hypnosis for anesthesia in over 2000 surgeries. Back then the chances of surviving even minor surgery were slim, yet Dr. Esdaile had a very low mortality rate and rapid post-operative recovery. If chloroform hadn’t been introduced it is likely that hypnosis would be commonly used in surgery today. Hypnosis has also been shown to speed up post-operative recovery.

As long ago as 1955 the British Medical Association approved of hypnosis for certain uses. The American Medical Association quickly followed suit in 1958. There are countless modern studies showing the effectiveness of medical hypnosis.

So what is Medical Hypnosis, and what can it do for you?

Simply put, Medical Hypnosis is the use of hypnosis to assist physical healing and changes. The American Medical Association and many doctors have acknowledged that between 70 to 90% of illness starts in the mind. Negative mental states can weaken the body’s delicate defense mechanisms.

Doesn’t it seem obvious that if the mind can be the underlying factor for so much illness then it should also be able to heal that illness? Of course! Even the incredible effect of placebos proves this. It is hard to fathom why health professionals don’t see this. Well, things are changing – slowly…

Psycho-neuro-immunology is the popular name given to research and therapy using the mind’s healing abilities. It has been clearly shown that your thoughts and moods can cause changes in hormone and neurotransmitter levels. The brain and its chemicals interact with every other part of the body.

This knowledge is not new. Andrew Schalley and Roger Guillemin received the Nobel Prize in 1977 after showing how the brain uses neurotransmitters to ‘give orders’ to the body. Research at Michigan State University has demonstrated that a single cell can be controlled by how we think. Our state of mind plays a major role in our body’s susceptibility to illness and its ability to heal itself.

Since the body is controlled by the brain, and the brain by the mind, it follows that we can influence our body through the mind. Hypnosis allows us access to our subconscious mind, and is therefore the best tool for this purpose.

Many scientific hypnosis demonstrations have baffled the minds of the audience. Warts can be made to vanish. Ice can create heat blisters. Bleeding can be turned on and off at will. People walk on red hot coals without burning. Strength can be increased many times. These demonstrations are just to show the incredible potential we all have. Medical hypnosis uses these principles to enhance our health.

There are many advantages to using medical hypnosis, and no disadvantages at all. It is totally safe and non-invasive. There are no unpleasant side effects. The costs are extremely low when compared to most medical treatment. Hypnosis can easily work alongside other therapies, and might even enhance their effectiveness. This is because the mind has the ability to block treatments from working.

Here is a brief list of some of the more common issues Medical Hypnosis has been used for:

* Allergies
* Asthma
* Bed wetting
* Blushing
* Body building
* Breast enlargement
* Childbirth
* Duodenal ulcer
* Eyesight
* Hair loss
* Headaches/Migraines
* Immune strengthening
* Insomnia
* Menstrual problems
* Pain Control
* Sexual problems
* Skin disorders
* Sports improvement
* Stammering
* Twitching
* Warts

The list could go on for ever!

You already have tremendous healing power. A medical hypnotist’s job is to help you utilize it. Your doctor might need to diagnose your problem, and you may need a referral from them. Your doctor is necessary, so always consult with your physician concerning a medical issue.

One final word. Be sure to check that a hypnotist is properly qualified. Don’t just take their word for it, and also remember that a medical of psychology degree does not mean that a person has any hypnosis training. A medical hypnotist does not have to be a medical doctor, but will happily work with your doctor. I urge you to discover for yourself just how great medical hypnosis can be.

Are you unable to sleep at night? Do you walk around your room in the wee hours of dawn because the arms of Morpheus refuse to invite you? This inability to sleep is called insomnia. Well, you are not alone! Thousands of people are suffering from this sleep disorder. You might have tried to self-medicate by taking sleeping pills and the like, but it is still ineffective. You must remember that insomniais not a disease but a symptom, so you have to cure the underlying cause before you could solve the problem successfully.

Treatment of insomnia

Before treating insomnia, you should determine what the possible root cause of your insomnia may be. There may be two possible causes for your insomnia, psychological and/or physiological reasons. Identify which type you may have then you can better find the cause and treat accordingly.

Psychological reasons

Stressful situations like, a breakup, an incoming momentous activity, or a scheduled public speaking assignment can cause insomnia. The insomnia in these particular examples are psychological and you should treat your insomnia by solving the root of the problem. Experts call this the transient insomniabecause it is only temporary. If you remove the stimuli then you remove the stress. This is an effective treatment for this type of insomnia.

Psychological treatment

Practice breathing and relaxing exercises

If done correctly, this could calm you down and you would be able to sleep. This could also involve de-stressing activities like doing your hobby and the like.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine

Alcohol and coffee in excess amounts will not help you sleep; they will make you stay awake because of their components, caffeine, and ethyl alcohol, which have effects on the central nervous system (CNS)

Take a warm bath before you to bed

When you are clean and refreshed, you may find id much easier to fall asleep.

Exercise spends energy.

The body sleeps easily if you have exercised a few hours earlier before sleeping. Physical exercise during the day leads to a restful sleep. Do not exercise an hour or less before sleeping as this would cause insomnia.

Physiological insomnia treatment:

In this type of insomnia, you can use therapeutic drugs like benzodiazepines, antihistamines, and herbal medications, but you should ingest these drugs under the supervision of a licensed doctor.

Medications are only recommended when the cause is pathologic and the homeostatic (internal balance) ability of the body could no longer control the dysfunctional organ.

Alternative treatment of insomnia

Acupuncture

They use needles in various focal points in the body called meridians. Acupuncturists believe that when you identify these points, and apply pressure or acupuncture needles, the insomnia will disappear.

Homeopathy

Insomnia is treated by preparing concoctions or solutions meant to contain properties to make you sleep.

Hypnosis

You are hypnotized and instructed to relax and just sleep. This is not advisable for persons with psychiatric tendencies as it may further aggravate the condition.

Insomnia has varied causes so you should consult a medical expert when the condition lasts long. Natural treatment is still the preferred solution for insomnia.

I try to enjoy life to its fullest! I have a passion for helping others. I have worked extensively with foster children for over five years and I have extensive studies in psychology and criminal justice. My latest endeavor is learning and studying about Natural, homeopathic and home remedies for all types of ailments. The more I learn about these old remedies the more fascinating it gets to see just how much nature can teach us.

Hypnotherapy is therapy that is derived from subject hypnosis. The short form of “neuro-hypnotism” means “sleep of the nervous system”. The one who is hypnotized shows certain strange character and tendency. Hypnotherapy is frequently useful in order to alter a behavior, disturbing matter, and thoughts, as well as an open range of circumstances together with dysfunctional habits, nervousness, stress-related sickness, pain management, and private development. Hypnotic fact had been identified for many thousands of years back. . A Hypnotherapist usually differs from others psychoanalyst by concentrating on the task of unconscious behaviors and powers on the client’s life. Hypnotherapy takes numerous unlike forms, and has included elements from, and in turn influenced, other psychotherapeutic customs throughout it’s past. The type of hypnotherapy experienced by most hypnotists employs some use of therapeutic relaxation and intermittently aversion to alcohol, drugs, etc. This simple form of therapy takes up quite straight methods and few hypothetical concepts; however it has sustained to power most successive kinds of hypnotherapy. Subsequent regression hypnotherapy was occasionally known as “hypnoanalysis”, “analytic hypnotherapy”, or “psychodynamic hypnotherapy”. Several practitioners toiled in various ways and were influenced by subsequent psychoanalytic theory and practice. Analytic hypnotherapy found espousal in both world wars where it was employed by military psychiatrists as a rapid option to psychoanalysis in the treatment of shellshock, currently recognized as posttraumatic stress disorder. Hypnotherapy has widely been applied in relation to childbirth. It is exercised throughout pregnancy to prepare a mother for birth, and during childbirth to lessen worry, uneasiness and pain. James Braid was the founder of hypnotherapy and a surgeon too; specializing in muscular conditions, and has testified many cases of minor surgery using hypnotism. Hypnotism was at first used to cure hysteria. Current hypnotherapy is generally used in the behavior of depression, anxiety, and certain habit disorders, in addition to in the treatment of conditions such as insomnia. Successive study on hypnotherapy has been inclined to highlight three main areas, in which its effectiveness as a medication has been verified,that is Anxiety,Insomnia,Pain Management . Hypnotherapy has many new applications but study into its usefulness has tended to direct on these issues. More mixed results have been obtained for its usefulness in relation to the treatment of addictions, a part where weakening is regular with most treatments. The use of hypnosis has a familiar place in the medical armamentarium and is a helpful procedure in the treatment of certain illnesses when worked by experienced medical personnel. The verification sustaining the success of hypnosis in improving chronic pain related with cancer looks strong. The effectiveness of hypnosis in other chronic pain conditions, which include petulant bowel disorder, oral mucositis that is pain and swelling of the mucus membrane, temporomandibular disorders that is jaw pain, and stress pain. An organized evaluation has found that hypnosis improves the outcome of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for situations such as phobia, heaviness-obesity, and nervousness-anxiety. There is proof from a number of studies that its insertion in a weight fall program may considerably improve result.

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is characterized by having difficulty falling asleep as well as difficulty staying asleep. Insomnia is a common problem, for some people it means experiencing an occasional sleepless night every now and then. Others have trouble getting enough adequate sleep almost every night.

The best solution to cure insomnia is to find the root cause and remove it. Of course, the problem is not always that easy. But if your insomnia is caused by your lifestyle, the best long-term solution is to change your lifestyle. In most cases, it is better to do one small change at a time, rather than trying to change everything at once. The latter approach is too ambitious for most people. Without fast results it is easy to get discouraged and give up. A healthier lifestyle has many more benefits than just improving your sleep.

Some of the most reliable ways to cure insomnia naturally are:

Try to include some physical activity into your day. Not only can exercises make you sleep better but you get other health benefits as well. Just a daily 30 minute brisk walk is a good beginning for most people. Just make sure that you avoid heavy exercises in the evening, your body needs time to cool down.

Create your own bedtime routine, so your brain knows it is time to cool down and go to bed. This should include something relaxing, such as listening to calm soothing music, so you start to cool down.

If you are feeling stressed or anxious, include meditation or anti-stress exercises in your day. Far too many worry about what may happen tomorrow. Decide to relax now and worry about things tomorrow, if they happen. It is far too common to worry about things that never happen.

Try hypnotherapy treatment by a professional hypnotist. Some chronic insomniacs have been cured by hypnosis. Unfortunately, this can become an expensive cure. It is cheaper to buy self-hypnosis CDs and do it yourself. But most of them seem to have limited effect compared to seeking help from a professional hypnotist.

Use special audio CDs to teach your brain to slow down before bedtime. You can re-program your brain to automatically prepare for sleep. This will create new neural pathways in your brain, permanently changing your ability to sleep. Once your brain has been re-programmed you do not need to listen to the CD anymore.

The lifestyle of the average citizen has dramatically changed as opposed to the same person say, 50 years ago. Today we are constantly on the run, we eat processed foods, many of us are over-weight because of these processed foods, and some of us have addictive personalities. That’s not to say having an addictive personality is our fault, on the contrary; we do and that’s just the way it is, period. Today we are going to look at 7 ways Hypnosis can change our lives.

Goals – Many of us will set goals, and then lose them. Take the New Year’s resolution as an example, every single year we set these goals, and by the end of January they have been forgotten. If we used hypnosis sessions then we could subliminally embed these goals in our subconscious mind, and we would therefore have a better chance at achieving them. Making changes in our lives is difficult, we are creatures of habit, but by using hypnotic suggestion we have a better chance of meeting our goals without even really thinking about it, at least on a conscious level.

Stress - Common in the life of every single human being. We go day to day worrying about this or that with no real outlet for this stress. Stress in many cases revolves around money, the house, the bills, and the job, all these are related and all compound to create seriously unhealthy stress levels. Stress leads to a breakdown in the immune system which creates other problems as well. We can use the power of hypnosis to change our lives by using hypnotic suggestion to relieve the stress from ourselves.

Weight Loss – This one goes right along with smoking. It’s all about habit. It’s all about addiction. Using the sub-conscious mind to quit smoking or to cut back on food intake works, and there are many people who will attest to that. There is still the problem of the nicotine addiction in smoking, however when coupling this hypnotic sequence with another method, you can indeed quit smoking.

Anxiety and Depression – A combination of other factors in life creates anxiety and depression, and using hypnosis can help to change whatever is the cause. Anxiety and depression is generally the result of the stresses of life, which throws the natural body created chemicals off balance. Using the power of hypnosis, we work to change other things in our lives which will ultimately relieve this issue.

Sleep – Insomnia is the direct result of stress, anxiety, depression, high caffeine intake and a combination of other things in our lives. Hypnosis can help us deal with many of the problems that cause insomnia.

Self Esteem – A result of having had past failures in things that we do. It instills into a state of mind that everything we do will fail. Using the hypnosis sessions can change this about our lives too.

Fears and Phobias – The power of suggestion in subliminal messages can train our sub-conscious mind to no longer be afraid. This is more wide-spread than the average person may realize, but there is help!

Hypnotherapy, combined with taped sessions can play a large part in helping us with our everyday problems. Here we have shown that we can use Hypnosis to try and change our lives. The fact that it can help us in so many areas is because many of the issues we face on a day to day basis are related.

Preventing insomnia from developing requires knowledge on the potential factors that would hint at insomnia. In condition to be prepared, one can know what to prepare for. Knowledge of the causes of insomnia is necessary to prevent insomnia from developing.

There are several reasons for insomnia and most of them are been marked under physical, mental, emotional as well as medical, by identifying its cause one can easily look forward from the various kinds of treatments which may be advantageous to people who are suffering with sleep issues.

Poor sleep quality can be another sort of insomnia entirely. Suppose for a moment, that you go to sleep and get up exactly when you plan to each day but you never feel rested. That’s what I mean by poor sleep quality. You can often wind up waking up more exhausted than you were when you fell asleep. That’s why getting a good quality rest is just as important, if not more important, than getting a long rest.

True insomnia is a difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep and it may be due to inadequate quality or quantity of sleep. Insomnia is not simply gauged by a specific number of hours of sleep that you get. You have to realize that people vary widely in their sleep needs and routines. Insomnia Sleep Disorder

Causes of Insomnia: –

• Are you under a lot of stress?
• Are you depressed? Do you feel emotionally flat or hopeless?
• Do you struggle with chronic feelings of anxiety or worry?
• Are you taking any medications that might be affecting your sleep?
• Do you have any health problems that may be interfering with sleep?
• Is your sleep environment quiet and comfortable?
• Do you try to go to bed and get up around the same time every day?

Natural Remedies for Insomnia: –

• When you find that you cannot sleep, the first step should be to try and relax. You will never be able to do this on the bed, because your inability to fall asleep will irritate you further and aggravate your condition.
• Immerse yourself in hot water and a long drawn bath. You could use aromatic oils before or after the bath, and or aromatic candles to create a relaxing and pleasing atmosphere all around you.
• Listening to music might help as well. This could work best while or after taking the hot water bath, though it is okay when used singly also. As is the case of the books, you should choose music that is soothing and soft so it can relax you and induce sleep. Behavioral Therapy Self-hypnosis and auto-suggestion methods work pretty well. You will need to master the art of self-hypnosis from a professional.
• Reading has always been a great relaxing technique. However, not all type of reading will be helpful to you. Avoid any such topics that would excite you further, such as ghost stories, sexual fantasy stories, or puzzles. The best would be to read something that is pleasant yet simple – such as a magazine, newspaper, comic books, or a favorite bestseller.

There’s nothing worse than having to get up in the morning after a sleepless night, trying to go about your day to day tasks, feeling as if you are running on an empty tank; you can’t think straight, your body feels heavy and all you want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep. And yet, by the time darkness falls, your body seems to waken up and you just know that yet another sleepless night awaits you. A self-fulfilling prophesy then ensues.

Some people get to sleep and then awaken after an hour or so, wide awake and alert for the remaining hours before dawn, sleepiness returning at dawn, just when you need to get up. Others simply cannot get to sleep. There are many variations of sleep disturbances, but whatever your particular pattern is, the effect on your day to day life is extremely debilitating.

In an ideal world, the norm is to go to bed at night, fall asleep within a few minutes and awaken approximately seven and a half hours later. For some people it’s less, for some slightly more, but this is the average time required in sleep. As you sleep your brain wave patterns alter from the normal beta pattern of waking consciousness to the alpha waves of deep relaxation and on to the delta waves of sleep and the theta waves of REM sleep (dreaming). In normal sleep your brain waves pass through a cycle which takes about 90 minutes for each one and then the next cycle occurs, and this keeps happening throughout the night.

The theta wave (REM) stage of sleep is so essential to our well being that should you be deprived of it for very long you would become psychotic. (I’m not making that up, or over dramatizing this effect – it has been shown in scientific research.) During this stage of REM sleep there is interaction between the different areas of your brain which allows conflicts to be resolved, and this is played out symbolically in your dreams. You may not be aware of dreaming, but be assured you do. When deprived of sleep, your brain will ensure that what sleep you do have involves as much theta wave time as possible as a matter of sheer survival.

So what has hypnosis got to do with all this? In hypnosis your brain wave patterns also alter from beta to alpha-theta. Hypnosis is normal and natural; it is that same state that you achieve when you are between wake and sleep whereby the alpha brain wave pattern may be observed. And as you go into deeper hypnotic states the theta wave pattern is evident. Thus by learning to use self-hypnosis, you are in effect also learning the art of getting to sleep. You can actually learn HOW to get to sleep simply by listening to a hypnosis download.

For most of us we just go to sleep and we wake up and we have absolutely no idea of how it actually happens. For those who have lain awake, tossing and turning our way through the night, there is now an easy (and natural) solution; Armed with the knowledge of how our brain waves alter in sleep and that this is shown to be similar whilst in hypnosis, we now know HOW we can learn to get to sleep.

Most people do not realize what hypnosis actually is and so are afraid of it. It is a normal and natural state of relaxation and I encourage you to do a little bit of research for yourself, so that you can understand for yourself what it really is and appreciate what a valuable tool it is to our health and well being. Don’t just trust me; make sure you truly feel comfortable with this natural art.

Another fear that people have is that they are not susceptible to hypnosis. Let me reassure you that everyone is susceptible, to one degree or another. And hypnosis is like anything else you learn in life; you get better at it with practice, and therefore you can learn to access deeper and deeper states; just as the yogis have learned to access a theta state in moments, so too can you. It just takes practice, and this is easy with the guidance of a hypnosis download.

You can access a free hypnotic relaxation via the home page of my website. Try it out and see for yourself how easy it is to relax when you know how to do it. And notice too how you relax more quickly and deeply each time you use it.

Not only does learning to use self-hypnosis show you how to relax and sleep, you can take advantage of the increased communication between left and right brain functions which occur when in the alpha-theta state. I said earlier that conflict resolution is the purpose of the REM state; thus if you are suffering from inner turmoil, hypnosis provides the requisite environment in which to resolve it properly.

Insomnia can affect a person’s everyday life, and many have resorted to all kinds of cures and remedies just to get the much needed sleep. Sleep is a basic necessity for human beings, and deprivation from rest can have considerable negative physiological effects as tiredness continuously wears the body down. However, as people search for remedies and cures, one should take note that not all insomnia remedies work for all types of people, nor is one remedy applicable to all types of insomnia.

The natural ways of aiding one’s insomnia include an array of treatments, at times needing a specialist or can be easily accomplished on one’s own. An insomnia remedy such as acupuncture falls under the natural way or treating insomnia, and obviously a person needs to have a specialist to have this procedure. Aromatherapy, however, can easily be done at home. Scented candles, incenses, or oils are usually associated with this therapy.

Natural insomnia remedies:

1) Warm bath for sleep and relaxation: Taking a warm water bath 20 to 30 minutes before you go to sleep can help induce sleep. This technique relaxes your body completely. Your body becomes so calm that you will almost certainly fall asleep.

2) Sleep in a dark room: The second way to fall asleep quickly is to sleep in a dark room. Doing this causes your body to secrete a hormone that induces sleep. If required you can have a very dim night lamp.

3) Deep breathing for sound sleep: Third on the list of natural insomnia remedies is a technique that is used for many other ailments. If you can practice deep breathing it will help you sleep very peacefully. Deep breathing relives you of tension and stress. It also improves the oxygen supply to the body. Both these benefits of deep breathing are excellent insomnia cures.

4) Maintain sleep pattern: Another natural insomnia remedy is to maintain the sleep pattern. If you feel sleepy during the day, make sure you avoid a nap. By sleeping in the noon you will disturb the sleeping pattern and this will cause sleeplessness at night.

There is also what people call the spiritual remedy. Since insomnia can be caused by stress or anxiety, training one’s self to relax or meditate can be effective in remedying insomnia. Even prayer can help, all depending on how a person can easily (and psychologically) cope from stress and restlessness.

Diet, on the other hand, can also affect a person’s sleeping habits. It is not necessarily the question of what to eat to remedy insomnia, but also what not to eat to avoid it. Drinks chockfull of caffeine (sodas, energy drinks, coffee, etc.) should be avoided. Having a healthier diet can also help a person get enough sleep.

Training Yourself to Sleep With Self Hypnosis

Hypnosis also works as a natural remedy for insomnia. Depending on the causes of your insomnia, you’ll usually need two or three sessions. This is because when your body is completely relaxed your mind relaxes too — it’s impossible to feel stressed when you’re completely relaxed physically.

Insomnia causes lack of sleep and it is primarily a patient’s complaint. It is a symptom that means you sleep too short, too light or in broken lines and it is generally considered getting insufficient sleep.The interrogation and examination of the patient on hypnosis London in order to understand the insomnia is then divided into two main groups of insomnia, according to the initial causative factor.

The main causes for chemical, organic insomnia:

• muscle pain, bone or visceral disrupt all or part of sleep.
• Circulatory disorders of the lower limbs that are causing tingling, cramping or impatience that prevent sleep.
• Sleep Apnea that awaken the patient (8.5% of men between 40 and 65).
• Absorptions of exciting drinks like tea, coffee, alcohol, amphetamines, vitamin C.
• Abuse of sedatives, including the increased doses when the efficiency decreases.

The main causes related to thought that are provoking insomnia

• Stress from emotional or professional conflicts and before an examination or contest.
• The anxiety depression, where the insomnia is a symptom of some other manifestations of fear and anxiety.

Hypnotherapy London is indicated in the cases of insomnia that are to be integrated in the second group and you can experience the progressive withdrawal of hypnotics in these cases.

The insomnia is experienced in these cases as a desire for arousal, that is controlling everything and nothing. The intellectual hyperactivity leaves no room for respite and a well deserved rest. The chronic discomfort when sleep is no longer a refuge includes the fear of sleep, then fear not being able to sleep. Sleep deprivation eventually cause mental and physical exhaustion.

The hypnotic drugs are the cure that is the worst of all possible treatments because they are effective for sleep, but they create addiction. The patients that are moved into the certainty of sleep certainly and eventually prefer the stable imbalance that is caused by drugs in unstable equilibrium, they prefer a world without certainty to the better treatment.

Hypnosis London is a very effective therapy for any type of sleep disorders. Because of the abuse of the sleeping pills, this treatment often takes the appearance of a detoxification with all the symptoms of drug addiction that might appear. After this test, the confidence in your body will be slowly returning and the pleasure of sleeping without medication will be regained by the patient.
The technique of hypnosis London is used to relieve anxiety by suggestions of relaxation, and to realize a true rehabilitation of sleep. Hypnosis London has a kinship with falling asleep in that it requires a sensory deprivation: noise, light, temperature, and psychophysical relaxation before reaching the lethargy triggering sleep itself.

The peculiarity of the insomniac is precisely to help sleep; by obstructing a natural process, it is likely that attempts to control will definitely let go under hypnosis. The patient that is undergoing this treatment must be alert and he needs to be reminded that the suggestions will require a half-sleep in order to be effective.

Before the advent of “sleeping pills” and other medically proved sleeping aids, hypnosis was very much in use as a sleep inducing treatment for many who suffered from insomnia. There is a long history of the relationship between hypnosis and sleep.

Insomnia is a sleep illness, the most ordinary causes is pressures at home and from work, financial or marital problems and certain medicinal situations. Signs of insomnia are usually lack of sleep for long intervals of time, disrupted sleep or unable to go back to sleep once the sleep has been disrupted.

Hypnosis can assist a person who encounters slight sleeping problems, an expert should identify and cure brief- or lifelong disorders. To reach a state of complete relaxation through hypnosis, you must start by breathing deeply and to have proper concentration on relaxation techniques. Your sleep or surroundings might help you relax deeply as you commence to hypnotize your very own self. You can create a more peaceful area by means of eradicating all motivations, for instance brilliant lights and annoying noises. Frequently, gentle melodies may aid self-hypnosis. Professionals also suggest self-hypnosis in the vicinity of your garden with flowing water, since the sounds of the water soothes and relaxes both the mind and body. To totally conquer insomnia, learning to relax with self-hypnosis is very important, but it is not always viable to listen to an audio or watch DVD recordings.

I first started using hypnosis for sleep around two years ago after suffering with insomnia for almost 5 years. It has helped cure my insomnia and I would recommend using hypnosis for sleep problems such as insomnia to anyone else out their who finds it almost impossible to get a full nights sleep.

There are many websites dedicated to the use of hypnosis for sleep, many of which will give you a step by step routine to follow if you wish to try achieving it by yourself or offering downloadable recordings if you would rather follow the instructions of a qualified hypnotherapist.

So, if you are having trouble sleeping, consider the connection between hypnosis and sleep and see if it will work for you.

Has any of this happened to you?

Your boss ends your Monday with a stack of papers and instructions that you must submit this report in the next 48 hours or else…

Your significant other doesn’t answer your calls when you need to get a hold of them the most

Your mother sends you Guilt-Tripping messages that you don’t come and visit enough

Your landlord Completely ignores you when you tell her that part of the ceiling is leaking in your apartment

Your credit card bill is getting HUGE and is taking over in your dreams

At this point your probably starting to feel a throbbing pain in your temples like your head is about to explode.

EASY does it.

You certainly don’t want that to happen now do you?

Sit down and take a deep breath, close your eyes, relax and unravel your inner thoughts.

Sometimes, when taking control over a chaotic life, a stressful situation, a physical ailment or an emotional dilemma, it will usually start within you – your mind, and specifically, your “Subconscious”.

Communicating with your subconscious doesn’t have to be seen as being difficult.

Negotiating with your own self(Yes, I know it sounds kind of crazy, but hear me out) can be ‘achieved’ through a form of mind control called “Self-Hypnosis”.

Some of you reading this article right now may of heard of this practice and know How To do it, but for those of you who don’t here’s a sample of this basic procedure in 7 easy to follow steps.

Step #1. Find a venue conducive for relaxation.

Find a quite room, with a comfortable temperature and set the lights just right (not too dim, not too bright).

Then… light a candle and incense if you desire.

Step #2. Surround yourself with sound pleasant to your ears.

Play some relaxing music. Bring in a portable fountain. Hang some chimes where the breeze blows.

WHY?

Because the sound of music is soothing.

Step #3. Find a comfortable position.

Surround yourself with the things that make you feel the most comfortable. For example, your pillows, blankets, your favorite pair if joggers, whatever you like.

A caring, healing sensation always eases stress.

Step #4. Tell yourself this.

I am light, I am comfortable, I am at ease with myself.

All my tensions, worries and anxieties are gone.

I am light, I am comfortable, I am at ease with myself.

(Repeat many times while breathing deeply and with your eyes closed.)

Step #5. Picture what you want your life to be.

Visualize every detail, every situation that you want to happen.

Imagine it So… as if it is really happening at this moment.

Step #6. Repeat step #4.

Breathe in, breathe out. Now… imagine yourself being surrounded by a bright, luminous light starting from your forehead until it fills the whole room.

Step #7. Wake Up!

Simply wake up when you’re ready and feel refreshed.

Repeat this procedure regularly as needed.

This exercise simply helps you clear your thoughts.

It may also lead you to Self-Revelations that will help you assess the situation on How you want to live your dreams.

It may or may not work, your goal may or may not be achieved – the universe has reasons humans may not fathom.

The important thing here is this: “Self-Hypnosis” will help you become a better, calmer person that’s More attuned to themselves, and more willing to help others.

With ALL your tensions and worries away, who knows what you may accomplish in the coming Days, Weeks, Months and Years that lie ahead.

By using special techniques, self hypnosis software directly influences the mind with a neural process that mimics the actual electrical activity of the brain. When this activity is shifted, mental states that are conducive to your goals are generated. Thus, this new type of software will direct your mind to its most receptive state and create a proven brainwave pattern that makes the mind more receptive to suggestions. From this point, the possibilities are endless. You can use recorded suggestions, affirmations, any type of verbal guidance or hypnotic script. This type of approach will also enhance your ability to visualize and provide access to the most powerful and practical psychological techniques available.

In addition, brainwave stimulation alone can also have a huge affect on your mental state and behavior. Using a good software package, brainwave patterns can be used to help with specific problems. A common use is to help increase attention, focus and memory which has been extremely helpful for students or people with ADD. It is also used to reduce anxiety, blood pressure, addictions, insomnia and much more.

Our subconscious minds control our perception of the world. Our desires, fears, habits, and personality traits all come from associations which are programs contained in the subconscious mind. Just think of what could be available to us if we were to change the nature of our subconscious. Rather than having it work against you all the time, what if your subconscious could instead make your perception of the world more like you want it to be? What if you could reprogram yourself to be without all those bad habits, emotional reactions and fears that block your progress? What if you could suddenly feel happier, or only crave healthy foods? What if being confident, energetic and focused was as effortless as breathing? These new types of self hypnosis software makes all this possible.

Research has shown over and over again that our behaviors are the result of our subconscious associations or programming. We have all noticed when seemingly random events, such as a certain smell or a certain song playing on the radio, can result in very intense emotions right out of the blue. The cause of this emotional reaction is not the song or smell; it is what they have been associated with from our past. These associations are the programs in our mind that dictate most of our desires as well as our fears and limitations. The sad thing is that these programs will serve as obstacles to the things we want out of life.

What time is it?

2:17AM

Move around: adjust the covers; hit the pillow.

It must be later!

“What time is it?”

2:21 AM

Not again! Uncontrollable thoughts are popping around in my head. Some time must have passed!

“What time is it?”

2:29 AM

I’ll never be able to get up at 6:00 AM and be alert and awake for work! How long do I have to put up with this?

“Should I just get up?”

I’m going to feel sooooo horrible today!

“Where’s my pill?”

Aarrgghh… 6 AM!

So, do you believe you create your nighttime reality? Do you not already create your daytime reality?

What inspired Me to Write this Book?

I have suffered from ‘wake-up’ insomnia for some 20+ years. My night marauding is finally at an end. My clock is no longer my enemy.

I rolled over 10 times a night and looked at the time.

I took antidepressants.

I took sleeping pills.

I felt miserable at night.

I dreaded the coming day.

I worried constantly that I would not be able to perform adequately.

I was angry that this was happening to me.

I experienced a desperate sense of entrapment.

I was simply tired.

Enough!

I had existed in this state of sleeplessness, of one miserable night after another, for so long that I believed that a true, restful night was beyond my reach, like some unattainable state of well-being. Access denied! However, that was not the case because I discovered a new path to achieve my goal of a good nights’ sleep and obtain that deep sense of feeling good all day long.

When you experience not sleeping night after night, all you really want to do is sleep soundly. These years of hardship of mental and physical struggles and asking, “Why me?”, were weighing heavily on me. But, it was finally coming to an end. Somewhere down deep, I knew that I really wanted to make a change in my sleep habits; I wanted to get off the medication; I did not want to live this way for the next 40 – 50 years of my life. I wanted change! I wanted control over my nights. These thoughts became my focused, burning desires.

Part of my discovery was that this situation wasn’t so much paradise lost as much as it was paradise denied! Had my sleep been eroded by external forces outside of my control? No! Why was this state of restful sleep denied? What was the barrier? I was thunderstruck when I realized that I was the barrier. My thinking, my behavior, and my patterns were so ingrained and I didn’t even know I’d done it to myself. Ultimately, I discovered that my thinking and focus were at the core of the problem. There was no one else to blame. I was responsible for my situation; for my reality.

The Day of Awakening

Your thoughts really do become the essence of growth and change, because one day, I literally woke up and said to myself, “I’m tired of this continual negative pattern. I want to change whatever I need to in order to create a positive nighttime experience.” That was the day I stopped taking sleeping medication; that was the beginning of my journey of discovery.

Where can I go; whom can I talk to; what can I read; what could I discover? What could I do to change these horrible, debilitating nighttime habits?

Since that day of awakening, I have entered a new dimension. I discovered that I really did have control over the events of my day and night. I’d already tried acupuncture and hypnosis to help me sleep. These treatments in and of themselves, for me, were not particularly effective. I read any kind of literature and books describing the physiological processes involved with sleep and began practicing various behavioral techniques that induce relaxation. Although you cannot make sleep happen by trying, it is important to relax your mind and body with the intention of reducing stress. By introducing a sense of calm and peacefulness, you set the stage for sleep – you invite it in. Ultimately, there was nowhere else to go besides inside. I literally awoke to the reality of my discovery – that change needed to happen from within as well as from without. You need to allow sleep to happen naturally. It was more than just changing my physical behaviors (though these are major contributing factors); it was the direction of my thoughts and energy that directed and influenced the change.

The Promise of Sleep

Is the promise of a good night’s sleep just an illusion? I think not. I found I had the ability to change my sleep habits. Let my journey and discoveries be an inspiration for your awakening. Your sleep habits can change too. Your thoughts really do become the essence of your growth and change. As Mike Dooley, (Infinite Possibilities, www.tut.com) says, “Thoughts (really do) become things”. With positive thoughts, your behaviors will also change and your nighttime reality will become one of rest, bliss and rejuvenation. As you read of my challenges and struggles, you will discover beneficial techniques, processes and information that will assist in your personal growth and change toward positive sleep experiences.

The image of someone tossing and turning all night, staring aimlessly at the ceiling and feeling groggy overall is not a pretty picture. Eye bags, sallow skin and a bad attitude are all quite unattractive as well. The bottom line is that there is nothing good that can be said about insomnia. In order to change all that, you have to find a way to feel calm and comfortable, enough to fall asleep and stay that way for the entire night.

Picture yourself lying in a field somewhere, full of fresh grass and a wide variety of beautiful flowers. On a sunny, summer day you make a bed on this pillowy site, and all you can think about is how good you feel. Feeling relaxed in the warmth of the sun, you inhale every bit of goodness that surrounds you, and it fills your whole body with an innocent pleasure. The aromas that you inhale make you feel twenty years younger, and you have never felt so calm in all of your life. You think to yourself that you could sleep right here for hours. Now why couldn’t you take this feeling into your bedroom permanently?

Amidst all of the pills and hypnosis and humidifiers, there is one method of falling asleep that seems to stand out above all the rest. Aromatherapy is the best choice for people who want to teach their bodies to fall asleep gently and naturally, while feeling so good inside.

What is so great about using fragrances to fall asleep is that there is no harm, no addiction, and no gimmick. If you enjoy the scent, you will be lulled off into a deep slumber. If the scent is unpleasant, you will just need to try another one.

Aromatherapy can be such an exciting method to use in overcoming insomnia. Experimenting with the right scent for your body composition is a fun way to become in tune with yourself and what you like. Every person’s body reacts to scents in different ways, so different fragrances can produce a different response in the brain.

Part of winning the battle against insomnia is all about having the right atmosphere. From eliminating extraneous background noise to picking out a soft set of sheets to setting the right temperature in the house, a comfortable place will help to ensure that you rest easy. Once your body can feel extremely relaxed, your brain will soon follow, and you will be on your way to a night full of sweet dreams.

Using aromatherapy is done in a wide variety of ways. Sleeping mist can be gently sprayed on pillows and linens, candles can be lit safely until you are ready to fall asleep, or sachets can be placed nearby for a more mellow fragrance. Whichever way you choose to go about it, this is definitely a great technique for your body and mind. You will create a whole aura of peace and goodness that will make your insomnia a thing of the past.

Nearly every smoker needs help stopping smoking. There is good reason that kicking the tobacco habit is so very difficult. You have trouble when you try to stop your cigarette or cigar routine because you need a support to guide you, helping you quit without restarting.

Why You Need to Quit Tobacco

There are so many reasons that you want to quit this habit. It is a dirty practice that can leave traces in your home and in your vehicle. Nicotine and smoke can build up in your house, creating a film on your furniture, walls and other surfaces in your home.

You may have seen the build up in your vehicle’s windows when you clean them. The yellow film is thick and a little sticky. This is the type of build up that occurs in your body when you are a smoker. This leads to health problems.

Health Problems

You may have difficulty breathing. A simple walk to the mailbox can leave you breathless. Your lung capacity is diminished and you are unable to perform as well in physical activity. If you have asthma or other breathing conditions, you exasperate them when you smoke.

Your heart and lungs are affected and your mouth is as well. Your habit causes your gums to recede and your teeth to turn yellow. This can lead to gum disease and the untimely loss of precious teeth.

Cancer is a very big concern for people who smoke. Smokers are more likely to develop cancer than non-smokers. There are many other health conditions that are affected or created by cigarette habits including difficulty healing quickly and insomnia.

Getting Help Stopping Smoking

There are so many reasons to quit. Why do so many people continue to smoke? They continue because the habit has very strong physical and psychological addictive qualities. You have trouble because your body craves nicotine.

The human brain has receptors that are designed specifically for nicotine. These nicotine receptors go haywire when you try to quit cold turkey. Your body also experiences painful withdrawal symptoms as well. You need smoking self-help to get you through the experience.

Quit Smoking Hypnosis

Hypnosis is one of the most useful resources you have to quit the tobacco habit for good. This process helps you deal with the physical and psychological discomfort associated with this habit.

One of the best hypnosis recordings by legendary hypnotherapist Duncan McColl, can be found here – Help Stopping Smoking. Duncan’s talent and soothing voice provides the support you need to overcome this addiction.

Another excellent option is by Joseph Clough, a talented hypnotherapist who brings years of experience to your side.
