We all know cigarettes are bad for us, but how does one quit successfully. Not such an easy answer.
Has anyone attempted using hypnosis to help them stop?

What methods did you use to get you to successfully quit smoking (ie: hypnosis, chantix, weaning etc). How did you get over the routine cravings like after eating, driving, with coffee etc? I am starting to get sick again and I want to quit before winter gets here so it doesn’t get worse. I’ve tried to many methods before and nothing worked. I feel I am too weak to quit! But for my own health and for my son I need to stop! Also, how do you deal with quitting if your spouse smokes and doesn’t want to quit?

If you’ve been thinking about getting the stop smoking help you need to finally quit smoking, there is no better time to give it a try. The research against smoking mounts every year and I’m sure you’ve heard enough smoking facts and statistics now to convince you to give it a try… if only you had a clear methodology to follow to help you quit smoking once and for all.
Well, different people try different approaches of, course.

I am on day 8 of taking Chantix. I don’t feel any different and am smoking the same amount- about 1 and a half packs a day. Would taking Wellbutrin or wearing a patch help?
This is the ninth time I have tried to stop and have done hypnosis several times, gone to a stop smoking clinic, did acupuncture and tried cold turkey several times. I did stop once for three years and started smoking almost to the day three years later. I also feel quite militant about all this and feel like I am being forced into it. I know I need an attitude adjustment but i have smoked for many years and feel fine. Please- no finger wagging- I get enough of that.
Does anyone who has been successful with Chantix have any useful advise for this old gal?

I saw a ad in my local paper for hypnosis to stop smoking and I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever done this. I really want to quit. I have tried the patches without much luck. Thanks for any and all info.

“Smoking is a disease,” a college friend of mine told me a couple of years ago. “I have tried to stop smoking but I just can’t. I don’t know how to go about it. Don’t worry, I only smoke light cigarettes. It’s another option to stop smoking,” he told me.
But the truth is he never really tried to quit… Ben –my college friend –passed away a year ago of a lung cancer. He thought smoking ‘light’ cigarettes was a lower health risk and a relative way of quitting smoking. What a shame. He was so young and full of life. He did not have enough time to accomplish his dreams. He shortened his life of about 10-15 years. For each cigarette took in a day, Ben’s life span was being shortened by about five minutes. Smoking is not a disease. It is a deadly habit. Tobacco smoke contains many noxious chemical compounds including cyanide, arsenic, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, acrolein, benzene, and toluene.

Smokers are really hard to quit from those any kinds of cigarettes, although we believe in the state of “mind over matter” but this theory is impossible for those who addicted on smoking. Trying to stop smoking is one of the most difficult challenges to quit. When you are a smoker it can seem as though smoking is just a natural part of who you are. Smoking is an expert at tricking your subconscious mind, that’s why smokers are hard to quit on smoking and it leads them to die.
Our subconscious level are can be regulate thoughts and choices we make and how we can identify ourselves. Therefore, when you are psychologically addicted to something, it is your subconscious mind that needs reprogramming to change your beliefs. You can reprogram your subconscious mind so that smoking doesn’t seem like a natural part of who you are when you stop smoking with hypnosis,

It is possible to quit smoking with hypnosis and who knows it better than I, an ex smoker who tried for years and years to quit smoking in vain. But then, I heard of this “quit smoking with hypnosis” method, tried it out of my curiosity and bingo! It worked for me!
It was later that I heard that hypnosis is one of the best methods or tools currently available to help a smoker quit smoking forever. And what should be the motivation behind wanting to kick this habit? Once you get to know the several health benefits of cessation of smoking, you will feel the urge to kick the habit, yourself.
