Hypnotic therapy is found to be very effective in the fight against smoking habits if used in combination with other treatment modes. Basically hypnosis is a process by which hypnotist gives positive suggestions to the subjects to bring positive changes into his life style. This treatment mode is commonly used for rectifying the behavioural problems of people of any age and gender.

My boyfriend smokes a lot, and his mom and dad don’t know. I want him to stop so badly, but he can’t. His brother, dad, mom, and sister smoke, so now he does. I want him to quit, and he does too, but he doesn’t know how. Can you give me any tips that aren’t Chant-ix, The patch, or hypnosis. I said just chew gum (that’s what i do) but it doesn’t work because he goes through a back a day. Help!

Many smokers who try to quit have tried all other conventional methods that come to mind without any success. Most products that claim to assist a person to Stop Smoking do not work for long-term smokers and some products may even have side effects. Heavy smokers cannot stop suddenly due to adverse withdrawal symptoms. Hypnosis is an alternative method to assist people to Stop Smoking without any side effects.

I’ve been smoking since I was 14 so about 20 years now, I’m a pretty heavy smoker. Also a pretty bad asthmatic, yes I know how stupid I am for smoking! Anyways, I’ve tried everything I can think of………cold turkey, nicotine patch, nicotine gum, zyban, and most recently hypnosis. Nothing has worked! I’m a prisoner to these cigarettes and I don’t know how to stop and be done with them forever!!! If there is something out there that has worked for even the most seemingly hopeless PLEASE let me know!!
Thanks to everyone for their advice, and to sir readalot who was very rude I must say, I’m not the one who gave your answer a thumbs down.

I’ve smoked a little less than a pack a day for the past 10 yrs, and I’m ready to quit. I would like to know the best method other’s have tried and has worked for them. I’ve tried the patch, but have had doctors tell me that’s for those who are heavy smokers (ie 2+ packs a day) and are not geared to the pack-a-day smoker. Plus I found being on the patch made me nuerotic…couldn’t sleep, had bad dreams, etc. The doctors told me that was because my body wasn’t used to that much nicotine being pumped thru my system. I’m not a gum chewer, gum gives me a headache. I don’t like suckers and candy. Cold turkey is rough. I’ve thought about hypnosis, but don’t know how effective it is. Has anyone had success w/ any of these or other things?

I am looking to quit smoking and really want to succeed. I am looking into hypnosis in addition to patches. If I use hypnosis I want to know if the cds work as well as traditional sessions. I would prefer to hear from those that have personally used hypnosis to end bad habits or those trained to deal with such habits.

a)The hypnotist would suggest changes in Robert’s feelings, perceptions, thoughts, or behaviors related to smoking.
b) The hypnotist would stimulate Robert’s five senses using monotonous hypnotic induction and force him to quit smoking.
c) The hypnotist would ask Robert to go to sleep until the hypnosis is over.

My husband and I have sole custody of his 3 children, one of which is a 13 year old girl. She has a horrible habit of biting on the inside of her cheeks and she and I were discussing ways to help her stop. We both feel it has something to do with anxiety and we are taking her to see a doctor. In casual conversation, I mentioned hypnosis as being one method sometimes used to break habits but told her this wouldn’t be something we would do in her case…She visited her mother this weekend and casually mentioned to Mom that I was talking about hypnosis. Mom freaked out, insisting that I was suggesting a form of witchcraft on her. Needless to say, this hasn’t helped my step daughter’s cheek-chewing habits. My step daughter, who knew that I had recently been given a CD for hypnosis (to stop smoking) was concerned that I was involved in witchcraft and was trying to involve HER in the same. What would be your response to all of this?
