Self hypnosis science fair project help?

Ok so I’ve been stumped on what I should do for a science fair project, and I want something original and something I’d be interested in. Then I thought of doing a project based on self hypnosis like the CD tracks or something, problem is I can’t think of a good question to experiment with it it. Help? Do you think this would be a good science fair? Thanks in advance :]

I have seen many courses and books on covert hypnosis, you know, stuff like ‘Hypnotize others without them knowing and make them do what you want’. Heheh, who wouldn’t want to be in control of others, but my question is: is it sick to desire such thing?

some one can send me the self hypnosis techniques?

Stop Smoking: And Stop Making Excuses

Smoking is a bit of a strange habit as it is one of those things that we really now that we shouldn’t do, but feel that we just can’t help it once we get hooked and become addicted. Its hold over us can seem to be one packed with amazing strength and power. Seeming to sap all our willpower and make us a slave to its tempting allure. If you are or have ever been a smoker you will understand just how hard smokers make it to give up! Yes you did read that right – smokers make giving up hard! In actual fact smoking is quite easy to stop once you stop making it difficult on yourself and stop making excuses. After all, most smokers quit every day when they go so sleep or when they are at work – sometimes going hours without a smoke and without any problems – well that is until they near a break time or until they head for the coffee machine just after waking.

So do you smoke, however really want to give up? If so then what excuses are you giving to yourself not to quit? Maybe you are saying things like, ‘it’s too hard to stop’, ‘the cravings are too powerful’, ‘and I have got no willpower to give up’. Well if you are saying these types of things to yourself then you need to challenge them as you are not quite telling yourself the truth. How do I know? Well I used to say things like this when I smoked. When I decided to really give up (instead of all of those half hearted attempts) I found it just as easy as it should be. In fact it was so simple that I really didn’t have to do anything. I actually had more time to do stuff as I didn’t have to go for a cigarette every 30 minutes. I have loads more cash too that I had saved from not buy a couple of packets of cigarettes each day – that really sweetened the deal for me as well.

Any tips/tricks for sleeping?

I have always had a very hard time sleeping, but as of late I have been dealing with a number of things, and have found my insomnia to get worse. I have tried almost everything. I have tried the old trick of counting sheep, just counting in general, meditating, self-hypnosis, complete silence, background noises, complete darkness, some light, fully lit rooms, warm milk, clearing my mind, taking walks, reading, watching tv, etc.
Recently, I couldn’t take it anymore, and decided that I would take every nightime/drowsy/pm drug in my medicine cabinet in excessive doses, all at once, in an attempt to sleep. I drank half a bottle of nyquil, some other substance that looked almost like nyquil, took 3 or 4 tylenol pms, took 2 doses of benedryl, and washed all of that down with some wine. After an hour, I still was not close to sleep, and decided to try that which has worked for me before: alcohol. It is very hard for me to relax, and alcohol helps with that. Well I’m 19, and my parents don’t drink very much, so alcohol is not very accessible in my house. I drank about 2-3 shots of bourbon, and a couple glasses of wine, and yet I still couldn’t sleep.
The only effect of all of this was that come morning, I was quite unsteady, and it took me a while to stand and make it up the stairs,
Anyways, does anyone have any tips or tricks which help to find sleep?
…I know this may be contradicting after the story of that one night, but I don’t trust medications that mess with my consciousness or mental facilities. I will NOT take sleep medication designed to induce sleep, and I will NOT take any prescription medication that prevents me from retaining my mental facilities.
Also, as much as I hold sleep dear, and would very much like to achieve it, I am a firefighter, and need to be able to wake up in the middle of the night to go to calls.
Just a few additions after reading answers:
1. I have smoked weed 2x in my life, and regret every second of it.
2. I have tried trance music, and am actually listening to some right now that isn’t helping at all!
in accordance with one answer in particular, there is a problem in my personal life which augmented my “depression”. My girlfriend who I planned on spending the rest of my life with, broke up with me after losing her father, and is now seeing someone else. That caused me to do many many things I greatly regret, and I find it hard to help people as I live my life trying to do. In fact, I end up hurting people which goes against everything I stand for in life…
